I've been researching my family tree (Including my Wife's) officially since 1994, although I had questions from my teen years. I'm forever finding unexpected data. My reason for supplying local (for me) data to other researchers is, among other things, to 'pay it forward'. Years ago a co-worker at the company I was working for heard I had significant ancestral presence in the panhandle of Utah. Since she was going to Salt Lake City for vacation, she volunteered to take pictures of headstones of whatever relatives of mine she could find. She found quite a few, so I know first-hand how this can be a blessing to the researcher. I enjoy passing that feeling to others pursuing this endless quest.
I'm a California native (c1941) and have had the pleasure of living in many diverse locations: e.g., Texas, Mississippi, Alaska, New York, Guam, North Carolina, and presently in Florida near the Space Center where we watch the launches from our front lawn. My 3 sons live in 2 different States - One of them in the ancestral town of his GGGgrandfather and his GGrandmother- Nederland, Colorado.
