I love helping people however I can plus this is getting me out of the house for some much needed exercise. |
I am employed with the Oklahoma Forensic Center, formally known as Eastern State Hospital, in Vinita for 25 years now. I drive by the cemetery several times every day. I have always enjoyed touring cemeteries and looking at the old headstones. Once when driving through the cemetery and admiring all the Memorial Day flowers I told my 3 year old grandson that his great-grandpa had a sister there but I always had trouble finding her. He gave me such a sympathetic look and said, "Well granny, that's probably because she is way down under the ground somewhere." I thought what a brilliant conclusion for a 3 year old that has never been talked to about death.

|Betty Atkins||Aaron Gregory|
My name is Betty Atkins I was born May 30th 1940 to Irene Gregory. Her husband, (my birth father) was Aaron Gregory (quite a bit older) and he died before my birth. My only information was that I was living with a grandmother and had to be given up for adoption, as my grandmother had tuberculosis. I was adopted by Wayne and Una Wright as a toddler. ancestry.com lists my mother, Irene Gregory as having died under that same name on April 29, 2001.I am hoping to find out anything I can about my birth parents. My email address is email@example.com. Can you help in any way? Thank you

Belated thanks for your efforts in trying to find this headstone. Though you couldn't find it, I am grateful for your time regardless.
Please accept my apologies for taking so long to respond.

Hi, I finally got the obituaries for Hazel Mitchel died Jan.31,1963 and James and Sarah Gunning. I have added their names to Westlawn cemetery of Henrietta. I wanted to be sure before I added the names. I am still searching for Phyllis Ann Thomas age 11 or 12 I think. She could be near Hazel (her grandmother) I really appreciate your help and would love to see their photos on the site. Thank you so much...Lois

Sorry, sent that before I was finished. Is there a Steel Oklahoma nearby? It's possible that her last name was Dial if so. It's hard to tell from the obit since I'm unfamiliar with the area.

Thank you so much for taking the time to check on this area--and the Sharps. I put some in my yard when we first built the house, (I didn't know any better at the time)in a rock-gravel area. Once you plant those things, they are there forever,, you pull them up, more come up. I have tried spraying them with roundup, they thrive on it. We bulldozed an area to build a garage, they came up.
A friend who does a lot of looking for graves in our area, says that a lot of graves that aren't in cemeteries, are marked by yuccas. When they find a yucca in a strange area, they check for evidence of a grave.
Thanks again--so many graves are lost--and no record of the person's burial can be found--Thanks so much, Loneta

|Deb.Corn.||RE: Walter Cornatzer|
Yes, there are a five more (that we know of). Cyrus Cicero (Walter Cornatzer's father), Kathryn Zimmerman Cornatzer (there are 2 memorials on finda... for her--she was Cyrus' 2nd wife). Lycurgus Leroy (Cyrus' brother/Felix and Effie's father, and Felix and Effie (children of Lycurgus).
One other request, if you find an Alex Chouteau d. 1897. He is not listed on Finda..., not sure if he is buried there...
Thank you so much for your help with this.

|Rita Hicks DonCarlos||RE: Lee DonCarlos|
Jackie...........I hate to put you to so much trouble but do sincerely appreciate all of your help.
There is a mystery surrounding Lee's death......he was found dead in a motel room in Reno and every clue I get to his death ends in a dead end.
Thank you again,
|Mary Bob McClain||James K. Polk Redding|
Thank you for the additional information.
"He also married Nancy Pigg on December 8, 1876."
Suggestion: "Parental relationship links for this individual are: 32405868 father; 34829644 mother"
The problem is the memorial # for the father is not a valid #. The mother's number went thru.
Also Do you think Nannie is a nickname for Nancy?
Thank you again and looking forward to hearing from you in regards to these questions.
