|jrland||RE: oops. Curious about Isaac Crow (died 1817)|
As far as I know, there are no descendents of Hannah Crow Langston who have taken a DNA test but it seems since she was a female Crow, any DNA tests of any of her descendents would follow their father's line anyway. I'm not familiar with how the newer (autosomal???) tests work though.
Those sons mentioned in Isaac Crow's will may very well be the correct biological sons but the DNA mis-matches may have happened because descendents have claimed the wrong line as their own. Just guessing that maybe there is a wrong link in someone's family tree somewhere but I really don't know. I have not studied any of Hannah's brothers' lines and don't know anything about them. Maybe soon these DNA results will help sort it all out. Thanks for responding.

So sorry about the prior post. I accidentally hit the "leave message" button before finishing.
You mentioned in your memorial page for Isaac Crow (died 1817, memorial number # 62882161) that DNA evidence suggests that either one or both of his sons Isaac and Samuel may not have been his biological sons. Is there a proven son whose descendent's DNA results were used as the base for Isaac d. 1817? I descend from Hannah Crow Langston who married Solomon Langston, Jr. but was just curious about which male line may be the true descendents of her father Isaac Crow if either Samuel or Isaac ("or both"), may not be father Isaac's biological sons. Thanks for any info to help me answer this.

Hi Dwight! I am so excited that I found this site today...you have posted SO many pictures of my family and I wondered if/how we are related? How can I reach you on here rather than lay out all of my family history publicly? Basics..My grandparents are Leonard Crowe (death 1978) and Rosa H. Crowe Patterson (death 1998). Please let me know more if you can...I am on a quest to learn more about Leonard and his side of the family! I never met him and my Dad never really knew him either. I have never met Crowe's beyond a few cousins and Uncles only. If you can help me at all I would so greatly appreciate it! I am VERY interested in seeing what my Grandpa Leonard looked like...he is the other half of my Dad, which drives me crazy that I don't know. I know my Grandma destroyed (rumor has it) his pictures for whatever reasons...so I have never seen him. He died 2 yrs before I was born. Please help me:) Thanks!

It's not my entry, I ran across both of them when looking for a family member to link to one of my Crowe entries. You can send a note to CathyO via a SAC on her memorial and ask her to make the links.
