Bio and Links
Bio Photo I can't think of anything more fun on a road trip than actually finding the cemetery you are looking for and then the excitement when spotting the gravestones. Digital cameras have taken so much of the anxiety out of this endeavor these days.

I have similar feelings looking on Find A Grave for my family. I am very appreciative to all who add their photos and obituaries on these memorials.

I have been working on family history seriously since 1985 when my niece asked me a question I could not answer. I looked for that puzzle piece and that led to the next. It never ends!

My special interests are:
My Page Family line which begins in SC with the children of John and Anne Page of Laurens Co, SC.

The descendants of Josiah McClure and Nancy Harris which includes Rev. Jonathan Burleson and his wife Rebecca McClure.

My Kenney line which begins with Edward Dunlap Kenney and Nancy Shumate
I am also interested in my local history and support our genealogical society.

I share my research freely so any additional information I have on families I will gladly share. Good luck in your searches!

RE: Nettie (Hart) Van Holde Squires
Her first husband leonard? already has a memorial page under Vanholde all one word. Another headache is the 'Van' and von names. Space or no space after the van/von....

Eliz Shaw at ANC
I'm sorry, but I just noticed that your memorial for Elizabeth Shaw is a duplicate of a memorial created for her previously, memorial # 49312746. That is by the same person who created the memorial for Frederick Shaw. You most likely didn't catch that it was a duplicate because the original has a typo in the year of death. Because duplicates are not allowed on fg, would you please contact the creator of the original memorial and see if he's willing to merge his memorial into yours, or delete his?

Thanks, sorry I didn't catch this previous to posting the photos.

RE: Truby & Gertrude Martin
Cathy, you are very welcome. It is sad to see how some of the stones are so discolored or faint. I agree to acknowledge his efforts in the military would have been most appropriate. Nan

Truby Cheney Martin
Hi Cathy, I just uploaded your requested picture of the headstone for Truby Cheney Martin. I also upload a picture of Truby's wife, Gertrude Louise Martin, (Find A Grave Memorial# 55045525).

Sorry, the headstones are severely weather so I used water to be able to photograph better, I hope they are okay for you.

Oh, if you are related you might like to know they are buried in the same cemetery as Frank Sinatra and other celebrities.

Best to you, Nan

RE: S.C. Gouch
Can you believe the amazing transformation! It is so sad to see a cemetery, that was once respectfully maintained by a close-knit community, completely abandoned and lost with the passing of generations.

Someone did a wonderful job reclaiming this cemetery, and it actually has been the site for recent burials.

Thank you for contacting me, and thanks for all you do to help others locate lost relatives, D. L.
