RE: Oops
:) So many cemeteries, so little time! And so many similar names. Good work!

RE: Maria Endebrok Koester
Oh, bet you meant Lakewood. That's a challenge anyway just due to the size. I know I'm missing some at Hartland, too, but didn't have the tools along to clean stones.

RE: Maria Endebrok Koester
Prairie Creek? We'll be out there for a memorial service as part of the reunion in a couple of weeks. There are plans to refurbish some of the Sommers and Koester stones if there are sufficient funds left from the reunion. I don't know if that will happen yet this fall or later. Some of the cousins tell how overgrown it used to be and the time they spent cleaning before the 1955 centennial reunion - so it's not surprising that there may be still some overgrown stones. One of the Koesters is looking for the old Prairie Creek church records so perhaps we'll get some more guidance for old burials. Supposedly there were some non-members buried AT the cemetery, but outside the fence.

RE: Maria Endebrok Koester
The Koesters in Rice county married into my Sommers family who lived near the Prairie Creek Cemetery. We're updating some info for an upcoming reunion, so you may find me poking around there.

Re: Lakewood in AL - delighted to see you posting photos. That's quite a task. You'll find more errors in my posts - I used a transcription I was given from about 2005 - transcriber is deceased and didn't make the second pass of the cemetery as she had done with others. Not that I didn't create a few new errors of course! I was hoping getting a base in there would make the updates and search a little easier for others.
