Bio and Links
Bio Photo This is a great way to show your support and appreciation for the information already on Find A Grave. Get out and volunteer to take some photos's. Photo volunteering has helped me find, as a new member, different ideas on how to search for my own elusive ancestors.

I am currently researching the Dumas, McEntyre, Layfield, Hathcock & Autrey name from St Clair, County Alabama.
The Hathcock line is also from Cullmann
Alabama, too.
Found recently are McEntyre's in Gordon County & Habersham County, Ga and Etowah County Al .. The McEntyre's were also in Rutherford County N.C.
The Dumas family in Hill County, Texas are brother's and sister's of William Andrew Dumas. I see over and over again Will is missing from Ancestry.com family trees.
In Alabama , the Spinks of Hokes Bluff are of interest.
If photo's and/or any information are not correct please let me know. However, I will work only on requested photo's.
Please add any nicknames, maiden names, or if they had a military marker. Some of the larger cemeteries are without any records and any added information is always helpful. If you do not add information to the request it may not appear on the list when we search. It will only show on the main page and if my wi-fi does not work, I cannot see the main page at the cemetery.

Any transfer requested is available unless it is in my family. I would also like to know the connection. This is just to make sure you are not
a commercial entity.

On my managed memorials, please no recent death certificates attached or word for word obits as it could unknowingly violate privacy laws.

Please acknowledge all the volunteers with each request. If you want the entire plot ask for it. It saves resources and time and gives credit where credit is due. Some researcher's only want the one photo. It's a fantastic volunteer system to have as a resource.

Shame and double shame to the number hoarders who do not transfer. You know who you are. There is a higher power than your ego. I have people who will not transfer because they do not want their work to be incomplete. Where are their own ancestors?

My goal is not thousands of records. If in the future someones relative wants to look up a record. I would want them to see correct information. The information from photo's to be readable. Links to correct family members and at least enough research to show the family members in the cemetery. For me, just a name on a piece of paper would be a real disappointment

Note: All photo's are made with a Canon Rebel and edited with Adobe Photoshop. I try to enhance unreadable markers when possible. In these cases the photo is not noted especially for quality, but for information purposes.

Note: Ask for permission to copy any photo.

Gina,

Do you mind if I copy a handful of your grave photos to my ancestry.com tree? I would, of course, give you the credit for taking them.

RE: Rev. F.A. Patterson
I think there is a misunderstanding. I'm not asking you to change anything that's on the marker. I was curious about the "Rev." designation, since in his various pension applications and statements in 1888-1890 he never mentioned this. I would love to see what you have as far as his association with Concord Church, since I am writing about him. I don't dispute that he could have been a minister.

If the 56th Ga. Infantry designation was inscribed on the headstone by the family, that's a different story. My understanding was that you added that to the memorial page based on the cited book; and either this is the world's biggest coincidence, or it is an error. There is no F.A. Patterson on the rolls of the 56th Georgia, but the F.A. Patterson who served with the 6th NY Cav. and the 3rd W.Va. Cav. is well-documented, and died the same day, was the same age, had a wife by the same name, etc. as the one buried at Concord, and he lived nearby. Please do let me know any information you have on Mr. Patterson. And I am happy to send you my research, which will probably be turned into an article and published. But I need your email to do so. These public messages are not appropriate for an extended discussion. Thank you.

Rev. F.A. Patterson
Gina --

There is no doubt that this man was a Union officer, not a Confederate soldier. I have conducted exhaustive research on him, and on his second wife Mary, who applied for a widow pension within weeks of his death in October 1890. I will be happy to send you my documentation. And I would urge you either to correct the memorial, or transfer it to me, and I will add the correct information.

Thank you.

Homer Williams
Hi Gina. I used the "edit" button to send you a transcribed obituary for Homer Williams. It has some information that could be added to a biography (i.e. parents, cause of death, etc.). If you need a copy of the original, let me know and I can e-mail you one.
