Not too much to tell - I'm an amateur genealogy researcher and don't care to help out others with their research if I can. I'm retired and have some time available to do this. I believe that all burial grounds are sacred, and that each and every grave means something to someone.

I work mostly Washington County, TN and a bit of Unicoi County, TN. I am a member of the Cemetery Survey Team of Northeast Tennessee and serve as the graveyard representative for the Heritage Alliance.

My F-A-G work is somewhat limited. It goes in spurts. I enjoy trying to help folks out. It seems hard to get errors fixed, however. I continue to work locally and, if asked, I try to assist researchers. I work more on graveyard documentation, restoration, and preservation. I appreciate those of you who sent thank you messages, I truly do - you account for about 10 percent of the requests that I process. To the others, please think about your volunteers - they research the locations of the markers, often hike to family cemeteries thru brush and briars, we spend hours and dollars fulfilling requests - It is work and we take it seriously.

RE: Johnson photos
Thanks, I never refuse a transfer of Johnson family. It makes it quicker to connect if I don't have to send a request to someone and can just do it myself. Still sorting them out, believe this one is a distant cousin of mine.

Thank you so much for your photos of Roy and Ruby! Very quick. Tying the family together is difficult bec they spell their surname a variety of ways. Thanks, Val

Thank you so much for taking photos of my Great Grandparents graves for me. Without people like doing this people like me would never get to see their family's grave markers. Thanks again

Thank you so much Gordon!! I'm a Tipton descendant and hope to get up that way to do some genealogical digging myself, I have found some articles on Moses being fined for moonshine, etc! Ha! :)

Gordon: Thank you for your time, I appreciate you trying to locate the burial place. I did not realize that the grave info came from a Bible. Thanks again for trying!

RE: Joseph Ray
Gordon, this cemetery is on private land and has not been cleaned in years. I hope to in a couple of weeks go and clean it. It is on Devils Fork Road back on top of a mountain. Hopefully you will wait a while until I get it cleaned off.

Thank you for the photos that you took of the foot markers. I didn't know that a tree had fallen in the cemetery and it is very nice that you will go back to take another photo of the head marker. I appreciate the first visit, but to make another visit, well that's so kind of you!! This is my 4x great aunt. Again, thank you!!! Maxine

Thanks for all the CW soldier grave photos. I had no idea you had so many. I do not have any additional information on James Carter, Memorial #141701834, other than what I found on Find A Grave. I double checked my ETHC resource to see if I coud turn up a request for a gov't stone, but did not find one. As you probably know lots of those records were lost in a fire long ago, so he still could have a VA stone. Sorry I can't tell you anything else.
