Thank you for the picture of Hazel's headstone. Wasn't sure if she was cremated or buried. Now I know.

Frank Hoffman
Frank Hoffman is not located in the cemetery in Basin Wyoming. His resting place is in Stuart Nebraska beside his parents. His memorial #87519293. We have the newspaper account of his death if you wish. Just send us an e-mail at the address listed on our contributor page on Find A Grave and we will e-mail you a copy. I'm not sure how else to get it to you. Thanks, Bill & Sheila

Frances,

That would be so much fun meeting for lunch, I'd love to do that ! If you search on find a grave for my great uncle his name is William Bevington Laundy. I was trying to figure out the cemetery by the names on his death certificate, so I'm thinking there are so many possibilities: Winnemucca, Winnemucca Pioneer Cemetery, Paradise Valley. I work Monday thru Friday, so if I make a drive out there the courthouse, etc. are closed.

We really should plan a lunch date ! Oh yeah, I do live in Reno (lol).

Much love and happiness to you,
Bernice

Hi Frances,

Vacation was great my grandson lives in Alburqueque, so I was there to walk with him to the first day of first grade !

Please add all of your pictures to my memorials, even if there is another picture, different angles are always nice, and sometimes if the picture was posted years ago it's interesting to see how the years have aged them.

I love looking at your work, please let me know if there are any memorials you would like me to transfer to you, or if there are pictures you would like me to take for you !

Let me know if you ever venture to Humbolt or Pershing county, my long lost great, great uncle is buried somewhere out there, and what is such a shame is that his father and three brothers were stone masons, and all have nice tombstones he probably ended up in a unmarked grave or one with a wooden marker that faded in time. He died back in 1890. It took years for me to find him, no one ever knew what happened to him, I found a copy of his death certificate purely by accident online.

Take care my friend.

Love you and the work you do !
Bernice

RE: Cole Family (Adelbert in Virgil, NY)
Hi Frances,

To answer your question directly, no -- the stones themselves don't give last names for Flora, Ella and Adelbert nor their relationships. From the placement it seemed pretty clear, though, that these 3 stones were meant as footstones for the larger Cole obelisk for John and Mary Ann Cole.

Adelbert does show as a child of John and Mary Ann in the 1870 census in Dryden, NY (adjacent to Virgil). In 1900 Adelbert is married to Ella in Harford, NY (also very close to Virgil) & in later censuses he is married to Florence/Flora in Harford, then Virgil.

Even better -- I just found a source that has obituaries for these 5 people. Please e-mail me when you get a chance and I can get them to you.

RE: Cole Family
You're welcome -- glad I could help. Next to the stones for Ella and Flora there was also a stone (in the same style) for Adelbert (1860-1942) .
