|Not too much to tell - I'm an amateur genealogy researcher and don't care to help out others with their research if I can. I'm retired and have some time available to do this. I believe that all burial grounds are sacred, and that each and every grave means something to someone.|
I work mostly the western section of Washington County, TN.
My F-A-G work is somewhat limited. It goes in spurts. I enjoy trying to help folks out. It seems hard to get errors fixed, however. I continue to work locally and, if asked, I try to assist researchers. I work more on graveyard documentation, restoration, and preservation. I appreciate those of you who sent thank you messages, I truly do - you account for about 10 percent of the requests that I process. To the others, please think about your volunteers - they research the locations of the markers, often hike to family cemeteries thru brush and briars, we spend hours and dollars fulfilling requests - It is work and we take it seriously.

I took pictures there yesterday and added the cemetery (Old Taylor Cemetery) to Find A Grave. The memorials were added to the wrong Taylor Cemetery and I'm working with their managers to get them transferred.
The cemetery address is 1768 Sylvan Hill Road, Elizabethton, TN 37643. The Cemetery sits on a hill north west of the house. Mr Reed the property owner was very kind and happy to let me take pictures.
Sorry I missed you.

Thanks for posting the grave photos in the Taylor Cemetery. I couldn't read mine so I didn't know which memorial they belonged to. When were yours taken. Do you have any others?
Thanks you, thank you, thank you! That is awesome that you found the final resting place of my GGG Grandfather, Robert Hayes. I have been on a mission for several years to find his headstone. You did it. Our family thanks you!

Amazing! Thanks for going out to the cemetery once again and looking for her and then finding her! Your sleuthing is much appreciated. I wish I knew the history of the family, what they were like besides when they were born and died. There has to be some fantastic stories behind these relatives of mine. Thank you Gordon! maxine

If you would like to send me any of the information on the private cemetery with the photos, feel free to write me at email@example.com. The owners sound like very kind people and I do so appreciate that they let you come on to the property. Of course I appreciate you asking them if you could also! Much gratitude, Maxine

So you got permission to enter the private cemetery! Fantastic! Thank you again for doing this. It must of been a fascinating cemetery. How big is it? Thank you for helping me out with my ancestry. Maxine McKinnon Maass

That's very interesting about Landon's location. And I can't tell you how much I appreciate your efforts in regards to Jefferson. My grandmother was Alice Burelson. She married J.W. McBride and then became a young widow when he was shot at age 26. Thank you for your offer to help in the future too, I will definitely keep that in mind. You've been of great help! Thanks again and I'll be in touch......Maxine!
