Bio and Links
Bio Photo we started out about 5-6 years ago to find my Ward grandparents in Missouri, and from there we find geneology and grave searching fun.
We have decided to honor those who have gone before us by photographing an entire cemetery when we can. This has proved interesting and satisfying. Unfortunately some people are not careful about posting duplicate memorials which has made a fun project more difficult. Please check before posting a memorial!

RE: John Kirby
Hello, I remember your kind remarks on John Hamilton Kirby. He is the 4th child of Oliver and Hannah Kirby. He is the one who was murdered, and your remarks were good, to kind of let me know, that even a murder, in 1891, is important info about him. I got the info, out of old SLC newspapers. I put him on there, but had not started on the parents graves yet. There were 7 children in all, and you would think, since I put it in, I might add more. So, still do not have all of their children listed on their memorial--and that is what I would like to do. I have searched and found a lot of info. I am just an old lady, and do not understand all the details of all this. I do stumble around, trying. I am 83, so some of this language is not something I understand. Yes, John Kirby is one of their sons, and a brother to my grandfather. My grandfather must have later learned of his death, as John was first buried in SLC, and when Marquis learned of this, he lived near Gandy, Neb. Sent for his body, and buried it in the McClain cemetery in 1891. Then, moved his little family to KS. in 1905 I am unhappy that Lettie Kirby took over my family, and put some of them on 'Find a Grave', as she wants credit for them, but only copied my info. Seems like a dirty deal to me. They aren't her family. I have talked to her, by email, but was not very impressed. Yes, Oliver and Hannah are buried in Oak Grove Cemetery, in Faiview twp., Mercer co., PA, and they are listed separately by Lettie, in Find a Grave. Thanks, Joyce Parkhurst

RE: John Kirby
Hi, I am trying to add children to my great grandfather's 'find a grave site. Problem must be, that someone else, copied this info, to the site, and it is not really mine---although it is my family, and we decided it was not hers. Is there any way, I can make it mine, and add other siblings, to Oliver Perry Kirby's site (with his wife, Hannah McCrossen). This gal that put them on this site, did add, two of the daughters, and they are not relatives of hers, either. There are several sites, of my family, she has added, because her name was also Kirby, but as I said, she is not related. Please tell me, how to fix this, so it is my family, and, my site. It is frustrating, because I can not complete the family, and the site. I did add one son, before I found her site, and so they are not connected. That would be John Hamilton Kirby, whose name I put, just on one site, but I learned the info of his murder, and put it all on that site, also. Can you help me, or tell me what to do, to get this family all together? I recently have gotten more tombstone pictures. Joyce Kirby

Marker for Alvin L. Daily
I suspect if the back of this marker were photographed, it would show the other occupant of this grave - Alvin Daily's wife Shirley M. Daily. They were married 52 years. She was interred in 1994; he arrived in 2012.

RE: Fosters buried in Ord
very sad if they're not buried together, after all those years, but maybe too expensive to bring her back to NE, or maybe she loved OR and wanted to buried there, and Fred wanted to be buried in NE, or the children couldn't afford to send Fred back to OR! lots of "maybes"!! pls let me know what you find out!!! k

Fosters buried in Ord
Hi Irv and Marietta!
I've been working on your family. I sent obits for both Fred and Catherine Foster to you last night. We have a small problem though. Fred died in NE and he is buried in Ord in an unmarked grave, next to his parents. If you will please put "First Addition Lot 39" in the Plot Edit.
Also move Edgar and Emiline to Ord Cem., "First Addition Lot 39", as well.
The problem is Catherine! There is no record of her being buried in Ord! So is she buried in OR and Fred's in NE?? Seems odd after more than 50 years of marriage! Was it just logistics and cost to transport the bodies one way or the other? Do you have any resources to find out what happened? As far as I can tell, all 3 children were living in NE in 1934, so why OR for burial?
I have a friend in Ord that does all my "searching" there. I will add photo of Edgar and Emiline's grave after you move them to Ord. She actually saw the burial card for this family plot, no Catherine. :(
I'll let you know if I find out anything else..
:) k
