ANy chance you are related to the Merritt's? I am looking for Merritts in Erie county as my great great great parents Purdy and Clara Baker Merritt were born in New York. I see James Merritt has a family plot and trying to figure out if he is a relative.Thanks

Hi, May I have your permission to use the fine pictures you took of Samuel's Headstone in my family tree?
|INDIANATURTLE||Schopf Pioneer Cem., Erie Co.|
You manage record #27138574 for Lieut. Sylvanus Felton. This record reflects that he was born 9 Nov 1741 and died 1820.
There is another record (#86258423) for Sylvanus Felton b. 22 Aug 1785, d.2 Aug 1814.
The Sylvanus b. 1785 died 1814 at Ft. Erie, Ontario, Canada in the War of 1812 is correct. Sylvanus is the son of John S. (most likely Sylvanus) Felton and Persis Rogers. John and Persis died in 1820 (epidemic).
Can you work with the manager of the other record (Jim Smith) to confirm which Felton (or both) is buried here?

In a message I sent ou about Samuel Jennes(s) and others, I said you hadn't responded to my tree invitation on Ancestry. That was someone else, sorry! I did email you about a month ago, I guess that was it. If you'd like an invite to my Ancestry Jenness-Keene tree, let me know and I'll send one.

I'm glad i could help. Ephraim looks to have been a very popular fellow. He was a Revolutionary War Soldier and finding his tombstone was part of a project i was part of in finding and sometimes replacing old Rev. War Tombstones. His was one of the lucky one's that was replaced sometime in the past. If it weren't for that new memorial his tombstone would have been unidentifiable except for the marker and flag placed there for him. The other picture in the memorial was the 1st entered so i hope you thanked that person as well. I put mine in there for a little different view of it. Thanks for giving me the name Sylvanus so that i could place it in his memorial rather than just an initial. This is good to know......

Glad to be of help. Snow is the fun part about living in Buffalo, LOL.

I went to Forest Lawn cemetery and took the photo you requested of Cora's headstone. She is in Section 9, Lot 193. I also took photos of the other headstones on that lot. In the photo with the large family stone there are from r. to l. in front James M. Merritt, Cora, and then Cora's husband Harvey D. Reynolds. Behind the large family stone from r. to l. are: Minnie W. Merritt, (her stone you can't see, the large stone blocks it), James M. Patterson, Genevieve M. Patterson, and John F. Patterson. I added memorial pages for the ones you didn't have and transferred the pages to you. I made a mistake while typing in the location on Harvey Reynolds page, it should say section 9, Lot 193

I wasn't sure if you were aware, but although this cemetery is listed as being in Erie County, it is actually in Crawford County. I'm not sure if there is any way to correct this on the website.
