I've been working on my wife's and my ancestry for a number of years now. The majority of my memorials are in our backgrounds, however if related or not, I feel the more research done, and information provided to each memorial, as well as linking family members, the greater benefit it is to the next person researching.
Please feel free to use any of my photos, I am not looking for recognition. They have been taken to assist others.
Your tombstone stands among the rest
Neglected and alone.
The names and the dates are chiselled out
on polished marble stone.
It reaches out to all that care
It is too late to mourn.
You did not know that I exist
You died and I was born.
Yet each of us are cells of you
In flesh, in blood, in bone.
Our blood contracts and beats a pulse,
Not entirely on our own.
Dear Ancestor, the place you filled
One hundred years ago
Spreads out among the ones you left
Who would have loved you so.
I wonder if you lived and loved
I wonder if you knew
That someday I would find this spot
And come to visit you.

My great grandfather was Francis Seward. I trying to find info on his first wife Polly Janetta Baker. They had one son together named Francis after his father. After Polly died Francis senior gave his son to his sister and her husband who lived in the US. Would anyone know what happened to Francis Jr. I have been unable to trace him past the age of about 14. Also, if anyone has any idea as to where his mother Polly is buried. Thanks so much.

Hello, many of my ancestors are from Portland. I was thinking of going there to do some family history research but being from the US instead of Canada, I am unsure how or where records would be kept and the best use of my time. Is there a library in Portland and would that be a good resource for newspaper articles and possibly photos of my family? Thanks in advance for any info you an provide.
|Leslie Vaughn||Dr Ezekiel Rose and wife Mary|
Three months ago, you fulfilled my request for a photo of the grave of Dr. Ezekiel Rose and his wife Mary Coard. I am so sorry it has taken me so long to acknowledge your kindness. Acts like yours is what makes Find A Grave work.
Re your edit for Rebecca Johnson Memorial 153710450.
You have given me place of death as Toledo.
Both her death registration and obit say she died in Soperton (at the home of her daughter per the obit). The edit is processed, but I have amended place of death to Soperton...if any problem, or you have other evidence that Toledo is correct, please let me know.

I noticed on the memorial for Eber Yates his parents are listed as Vincent Yates and Hester Hamblin but according to his death registration his parents were William T. Yates and Chloe Parish.

The death record for Schuler Gile is Portland, Ont. I have amended the record to show no known grave for Schuler and Elizabeth Gile who were residence of Lot 14 Con 2, Kitley, Ont and burial at Portland, Ont

I was surprised to see that he was in the SD&Gs. My first girl friend's father, Ed Baker, was also in the Regt. Delighted to be able to do this for you and others. phil
Hi---I'd be happy to do your photo request for Arija Gray in Woodland Cemetery but first I need some information so I can find her---what section is she in and her grave number would be a big help. Woodland is huge and without the precise location it will be impossible. As soon as I have the info I will head up there and take the photo for you.
