I am part of a project to research the history, "residents" and eventually to record all inscriptions in Gravesend Cemetery, Kent. I am happy to take photo requests for this cemetery as I am a frequent visitor there. I am always interested to hear from anyone with any information about interesting people buried there, (they certainly don't have to be "famous"!)

I am always willing to transfer ownership of my memorials to relatives.

Can you confirm your full name (or at least your surname) for a paper I am writing about Darwins?

John Squire # 77430672
I came across a William Henry Squire who appears to fit for being a son of your man Squire above and I have joined the relationship. Hope that's alright.
See William Squire #156810988 for a more complete explanation.
Not relatives of mine. I just happened on the newspaper death notice which I could not ignore.

Rev Thomas Powell 65137625
ref grave number 65137625. Would it be possible to copy your photo of Thomas Powell/Emma/Hannah and put it on Wikipedia under Thomas Powell (Botanist)? I am currently trying to give Powell a decent bio and there is an argument about his date of birth. Most publications say 1809 but my research says 1817 and your gravestone tends to confirm the latter. I will give you credit in the citation if you so wish. Alternatively I can just link to "Find a Grave" if you would prefer. I do have an old obituary for Powell if you would like to put it on his entry? Let me know and I can send it overland or by email direct.

Linton, St Nicholas' Churchyard
Hi James
we are pretty sure you either transferred to us or at least notified us about the Russian grave in the above church:
Irina de Morales Kamenskaya (1907-1998). The memorial is now mysteriously gone. Do you mind to check if you have a photo - we would appreciate one for our files?
Kind regards
J&K

Would you mind transcribing what is on the headstone. I can't enlarge it enough to be able to read it. Or email a copy to me at danga1949@hotmail.com

Many thanks

Jane Goodchild Craig # 48042348
Thank You, js, for transferring management of Jane's memorial to me. I have already connected her to parents, siblings and first husband, and am working on her children. This makes a lovely extension for my Jackson family line. I will also add Rev John Craig, her 2nd husband to Find A Grave and then connect connect them. He was Vicar of All Saints Church, Leamington-Priors, Warwickshire, 1839 - 1877, and a fascinating man. Though he was not connected to Gravesend, you might find his story interesting; http://www.craig-telescope.co.uk/life_craig.html

Thanks again for your support.
