I started doing FAG because I enjoy going to cemeteries. I especially like the older stones because they tell so much about the people by what family members put on their stones. My sister and I have been walking and photographing the Burkburnett Cemetery to correct the many mistakes that are out there. There is no greater loss than to lose records and not be able to know who is buried in a cemetery. This cemetery is very dear to me because a great many people buried in it are relatives of mine. |
I am happy to help in any way that I can. I do travel quite a bit for FAG so if there's something you need, please ask. If it's within reason, I'm sure I would be glad to do it.
When a correction is sent to me, I will look it over and decide whether the information is correct and necessary. However, I am human and will make mistakes. There is no need to be rude when contacting me about one of those mistakes. Also, those of you who do not have emails to respond to, don't expect a response back.
TRANSFERS: I'm happy to make transfers but PLEASE make sure you include the memorial number. I visit over 50 different cemeteries so it makes things easier for me. Make sure you follow the FAG guidelines for transfers. Also, please include YOUR member number with the requests. I RARELY CHECK THE MESSAGES ON HERE SO DON'T ASK FOR ME TO MAKE CHANGES ON HERE. PLEASE EMAIL ME!!

You are correct, I changed his name to Doyle Wallace instead of Wallace Doyle. I got the name from the funeral record and that was not correct. I am going by the marker, Texas Death Index and the Social Security Death Index. Once again, I appreciate all the corrections and additions you send me. Thanks

Paula, for now just leave the middle name as Lee and not change it to Lou.
I am trying to be sure about this. She may have just been nice and never corrected us.
I have been trying to go thru all the children, parents and add middle names, maiden names and things like that.
Thank you for replying to my previous email.
Just want things to be as correct as possible.
The surname got changed so many times from Seidlitz(they were from Germany) to Seidlits, Sidlets and the change goes on. Enough to make ones head swim.
Anyway, as I said please just leave it alone for now.
|Joe Woodward||Confused about the Postings for J G W Driver|
It appears you have posted the info for J G W Driver twice.
J G Driver #28604209, Gorman Cemetery, Gorman, Eastland, Texas
J C W Driver #39978885, Jewell Cemetery, Eastland County, Texas
Can you tell me which one is correct?
|Judith Lanclos||Otis Johnson|
Thank you for the information about Otis (Oney)Johnson. He was my grandfather's younger brother, and my grandfather was the informant for the death certificate.
There probably was no permanent marker for his grave. My grandfather's family lived in the Burkburnett area until at least 1922 or 1923, but relocated to Archer City TX by 1924.
I am grateful that his burial was recorded, and that you are trying to include all those documented in that cemetery.

John Milton is the correct given name. His father is Joel Blackwell who married Sarah Emeline Graham in Franklin Co. TN. They lived in Rusk Co. TX on 1850 census and 1860 on Coryell Co. TX census. Joel died of Typhoid fever in 1862 while serving in the CSA.
