Keeping and maintaining our relatives.
Redistributing the other memorials to someone we know will take care of them and isn't interested in collecting dead people like normal people collect friends.
NOTE: If you volunteer on this website and decide you no longer want to be a manager, please make arrangements to transfer your memorials to someone who is active and cares about the accuracy of the information. This really will help reduce duplicates, which we notice with increasing frequency.
If you place memorials and don't come back, or you refuse or neglect to fix them, link them, etc., they are as abandoned as many of the graves we encounter in cemeteries, only you have now abandoned these people twice.
It would also be a good idea to leave a family member or friend instructions on how to make transfers of your memorials in the event of your own untimely death.
In addition, it's not up to you to make new FAG rules regarding anything.
(Borrowed from another active FAG Contributor)
"Ancestors are nice to have
We could hardly do without them
And if they made the page of fame
We strut and boast about them.
But there are those who think that souls
Who have lived out life's brief span
Still hang around their earth's abode
To watch the works of man.
So when I think of ancestors
Who have crossed the Great Divide
I wonder if they view my life
With the same exultant pride."

Hi, I am at the library now. Tha Cassidys that were originally buried in The Old Catholic Cemetery were: Francis, James J., Florence Agnes, Thomas O.A., Serjt. F.J. (Francis J.), Mary Ann, and William. Francis J.'s father, Francis, according to these records was born in Bonington Co.,Pa. and died on 26 Aug.,1866 at the age of 63.Our librarian also found me his will dated 14 Aug.,1856. It's him because he leaves lots # 30 & 31 in the city to his son Francis. I will e-mail you all this info later..............Jim

Hi, Your info and link have been added. Thank you and now FYI, The Pioneer Park Cemetery is the remains of 2 cemeteries abandoned about 1895. The Old City Cemetery ran east and west and the Old Catholic Cemetery ran north and south at the east end of the other. When they were abandoned many were moved to either Oak Grove or St.John,s.The library has about 15 or more pages of names that were buried in each. They also have a list for pioneer park. Whoever listed Pioneer Park, only listed the CMO vet but I think that I listed the rest from that list. I will check next week to see if Francis Sr. is listed. If not, I will check the other 6 Co. cemetery books.......Jim

I just sent "djb" a request to delete the duplicate memorial. If nothing happens in a few days, I will let you know. While looking over the whole cemetery list, I found Barb Pyle had made duplicates of four of her own memorials. I sent her a request to delete one of each.
|John K. Pierson||RE: Duplicates|
I should have explained the situation. I created the memorial first. Sometime later "djb" made a duplicate. If I ask for the duplicate memorial to be removed he, she , or they always ignore me. You're good at communicating with difficult people.

Thanks for weeding out the duplicates. At one time there were two Tidioute Catholic cemeteries. I put my memorials in the one named St. John's. When they were combined, a few ended up being duplicates. I just looked at the whole list and didn't see any more that I need to delete. You might want to look at memorial # 101207035 I don't know who "djb" is, but they never respond to my requests or comments.

I first want to thank you for all the work you have done, especially of those who left us a wonderful history to admire!
I do have a concern about where Copeland's (Memorial# 76733688) birthdate came from, I have copy of his birth certificate which indicates 3 Nov 1903.
