From my youth, I was always interested in Genealogy after hearing my aunts, uncles and Grandparents tell of their early lives in the Old Indian Territory/Oklahoma. Even though I was born in Hayward, CA, and move back twice to OK and TX in my youth, those stories always intrigued me so I had to go back in time to research and document them.|
What a wonderful journey it has been. I found my heritage at the converging point, in the Indian Territory, where all my ancestors came to from MO, TN, SC, NC and VA. Most were just plain ole dirt farmers who were very valuable to the country's progress and growth but there were a few famous ancestors, as well, in the Gore, Williams, Hunter, Bowles and Bollings Lines; making me related to two Presidents, a Vice President, two Indian Chiefs, a Medicine Woman and the most famous Indian Princess of all. They stepped of the pages of history to tell me the story of their lives, helping me know who they were as well as who I was.
I continue to stay active but I am now in the writing phase of genealogy. I wrote "His Name Was Gus - the Augustos Wiler/Fickweiler Family". This is my maternal Great Grandfather who came from Germany and after 30 years I finally found a record for his arrival into the NY Harbor. I have just completed a rough copy of "Pocahontas and the Ambrose Williams Connection" to be published soon. This covers my paternal Williams Family back to the early cononies.
So in answer to "B" - I am very active in genealogy but haven't had a lot of time lately for FAG although I still try to keep up with messages.

I noticed that you posted a flower on Memorial 25285113 suggesting that dates be added. I have given the dates to the contibutor to be added and she has now added them.
With regard to whether Nettie is the mother of your Ray Sanders, I show that she had children named Lucille, Nevada, Ruby Joe, Jessie Mae, and Aaron. Hope this helps.
|Diane Jones||Eliza Williams 1813-1885|
Hello, could Eliza have been James' sister or half-sister, rather than his daughter? In the 1820 census for Grayson, taken in August of that year, there was only 1 female born 1811-1820 listed in his househol and this would have been daughter Elizabeth Jane, born May 1, 1820.
I have always wondered about James Hollis' parentage, and if he connects to my Jacob/1773/VA as a son, rather than a brother, as has been suggested. I descend through Jacob's daughter Jane Williams Utterbach. Jane named her last-born son, born 1840, John Hollis Utterbach.
Looking forward to hearing from you, and anyone else researching this family.

Clydene, Thank you for the message. If Jane is Mary Jane and August is her brother Clement Augustus then yes they are my kin. They are both 2 cousins 2x removed. I spent several days in Bennington about 18 months ago and it was a wonderful experience. Even came across Shoemake Road where several of the brothers had farms. I would love to see any pictures that you would be willing to share. I'll be returning to Bennington though I'm not sure when. If I can take any headstone photos at the Old Church let me know. Chuck
