Some cemeteries are in rough shape due to the ravages of time/weather/vandalism etc...and would make good scout projects!! Thanks for taking photos of the readable gravestones...they will be "preserved" forever.

Old Cedar Point Cemetery
The LaSalle County Genealogy Society's record indicates that Old Cedar Point Cemetery if located in NW 1/4 SE 1/4 Section of Eden Township. Kenneth Baker indicated that this cemetery was located in the timber about one-quarter mile northeast of Cedar Point, off of Route 89A.

Volks
My Volks went to Nebraska in about 1887 after they came from Germany. However they spent a year in Ottawa after their arrival and that is how my Horn family became connected, I think. My question was always why to Ottawa and why did they stay a year? I wonder if these Volk families were possibly connected in Germany, but that link is hard to find.
Are you any relation to Thomas Bottomley of Lincoln, Ill., died around 1980 or so? (guess on that) I thank you for the Frings obit-saw after that the other Frings was someone elses. Anyway thank you.
