Personally I have been photographing graveyards and doing family genealogy from a young age.... and have meet alot of people looking for thier family, so I shoot a little more each time I go to a cemetery in hopes that it helps someone out! |
I have added to several graveyards in LaSalle County Illinois.and some others of family interest, mostly in and near the towns of North Utica, LaSalle, Peru, Oglesby (which does NOT have a graveyard but uses neighboring cemeteries) Mendota, SpringValley, DeerPark, Ottawa and still expanding when I can. I do a small section of about 100 graves each time I go.... trying to add the older graves I find 1st due to the fact some are slowly fadeing out and are unreadable.
Also some info was found in the cemetery books that Also can be accessed through the LaSalle Co. genealogy guild. http://www.lscgg.org/
Also some of the graves will be marked as No stone those graves were recognized through cemetery records. Every once in awhile I will also include a obit with the grave site. Alot of these graves are also written in German & Polish with a few different dialects so if I have made a wrong translation please contact me as well as if you would like to add to a entry, or if they are a Close relative I would be happy to turn over to you! (NOTE: Do to recent family hardships I don't check here as often as I would like and therefore you may not get answered right away... IF I receive nasty messages I will not accept what you are requesting!So Please be civil this is a courtesy!) At any rate Please keep checking back for updates! I will try to fill requests when I can.... This is a HUGE process! Thank You and leave some flowers for your loved ones.... I like to know when I have helped someone connect! CHEERS! ***Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds***

I grew up in Ottawa and love Find a grave. I think that this group of messages exhibits our mutual courtesy and our love of our ancestors as much as any list of comments that I have read. Thank you Lucy for your high standards and your commitment to helping the people who have relatives buried in LaSalle County.
I have appreciated all the folks who have taken pictures of beloved teachers and classmate and wish that there were more. I believe that Findagrave respects and honors common people. As Abraham Lincoln said, "God must have loved the poor, he made so many of them." I believe that God loves the common person as well and I am thrilled to be a part of an effort which makes their significance noticeable to everyone.

When it is convenient, I was wondering if you could link Ernest Traeger, #39814077, to his son, my grandfather, Charles W. Traeger, #39814049. Thank you for all the work you do.

Thanks so much for the info on Edward Warnock's memorial. I was happy to see the obit and the picture as I didn't have either.
Do you mind if I copy them?

Hi Lucy in the Sky,
Is there anyway that Roman Kaupp's inscription is died at age 38 y instead of 20 y? Everything (104 Infantry, location, name) matches up that this is my ancestor except his age at death. Thanks, in advance, for any insights!

|Dona McPhillips||William W. Reynolds Sr. gravestone|
Lucy, in working on my tree I put in a request for someone to take a photo of William's grave. His number is Find A Grave #22307892. I received a message today that the stone does not seem to be there as the volunteer couldn't find it. After reading your bio note, I realize that you may have put this up via records you found. To stop anyone else from walking the cemetery, could you put a note in the bio section so anyone else like me won't ask for another photo? I'm sure it would be appreciated. Thank so much for your good work on helping us all honor our families. Dona McPhillips
|Karen Cook||Bruno Buchholz, Granville|
I want to thank you for adding my uncle's grave to the website! I grew up in Granville, but now live in NY State so I would be unable to photograph this myself. However, I do have Bruno's obit, and several photos. Would it be OK for me to add these to your entry, or do you need to do that yourself?
Please let me know and if necessary I can scan and send you JPG files.
Again, thanks so much for what you do. I wish more people would take it upon themselves to do this.
|Boice||Theron D. Brewster #53412422|
Theron D. Brewster #63412422 buried in Peru Cem., LaSalle did not marry Elizabeth Nicholson - it is Theron's son, also named Theron who is. Theron Sr. died in 1897 and son Theron D. Brewster and Elizabeth were married 6/28/1899 in Marseilles. The mg. cert notes that the groom Theron D. Brewster is a son of Theron D. Brewster & Margaret Jones. Thanks for your efforts in putting the tombstone info online! /s/ Gladys Boice
