Bio and Links
Bio Photo My name is Rita June Collvins Mayfield. I was born February 20, 1942 in Jackson County, Oklahoma. I married Vernon Roy Mayfield on April 16, 1971. My primary hobbies are gardening, oil painting, genealogy and of course cemeteries. There is something comforting about strolling through the cemetery and reading the stones. I have recently moved to Cordell, Oklahoma, but have lived in Oklahoma most of my life. Once an Okie, always an Okie. I am slowly trying to get all my family memorialized here. My virtual cemeteries represent my family, unless otherwise noted. I am going to make them public once again, and hope I can leave them without the misuse that occurred previously.

If I have a memorial that is anyone in your family, and is unrelated to me or my husband, I will be glad to hand it over to you as I don't adhere to the 4 generation only guideline, just contact me. I count it a joy and a job well done if I am able to pass on your loved one to you. It is my number two reason for doing this, second only to wishing to save all the old and battered stones from being lost forever. If you find errors on any of the information on my memorials, please get in touch with me with corrections. You are welcome to use my tombstone photos on your family files and family trees, just note where you got it.

Please don't post death certificates or census reports in the picture area on my memorials. They don't belong there and are detrimental to the looks of the memorial, plus it takes up room where photos could be placed.

RE: Ebenezer Reed
Rita - it is nice to hear from someone who is a distant cousin through my Cattaraugus County ancestors...that doesn't happen very often! One of these days I will sit down and do an SAR supplemental application of Ebenezer Reed, as well as those for Cornelius Brooks and his father James Brooks, as well. I have been busy with other lineage societies (I am up to eleven now.)

Thank you, Rita. His name is Carl E Kennedy. He is one of many of my grandmother's children. Most of whom were either still born or died in infancy.
I will link him with his parents and as many siblings as I can. I appreciate your work and the transfer. Cyndy

RE: Mangum memeorials
I see your Find A Grave tracks all over S.W. Okla. You've really been a Trooper! We went to about 4 cemeteries on Sunday (after church, LOL!), Mangum Riverside, Delhi, Erick and Mayfield, north of Erick. I had several markers I wanted to locate, one being a college classmate of mine who was killed I n Vietnam. I may request some of your memorials in the future. Thanks for offering to.

Sarah Austin Lindsay Blackford
Hi, sorry my first message got sent before I was ready. my name is Patsy Austin Frazier. I posted the picture of I.M.Blackford and his wife Sarah Austin. Sarah is my grandfather's sister. we have a lot of information on her, but we can't find where she died or when. we have narrowed it down to between 1912 and 1917. I was hopeing by posting the pictures would bring some information. if any one has any information on Sarah and wouldn't mind sharing it, we would be very appreciative.

Sarah's first husband was Lewis Lindsay. he died in the civil war. Thanks for any information that you may have. Patsy (Austin) Frazier.

Dear Rita,
Thank you for the transfer. I will be happy to manage it, but if it weren't for you, no one would even know where Phoebe ended up after leaving IL. Thank you for your service!
