Amos Erwin Sweet
His parents were Israel & Catharine (Wannamaker) Sweet. Amos came to Lee Co., IL. 1856. After his first enlistment, he again enlisted in Battery I, 1st Regt. Illinois L. Artillery on 5 Oct 1864, discharged 26 July 1865, disabled. Amos married (2) 26 May 1896, Lee Co., IL to Ellen "Nellie" Guinnepp, widow of Joseph W. REF: "Biographies of the Citizens of Lee County, Illinois, Compiled by the Lee Co., Gen. Soc., Copyright 2000.

The 1900 census says Sept. 1849 for Wm Lee's birthdate. In 1850, he was 1 yr. and Rachel was 4 yrs.; in 1860 "R" is 14 and Wm H. 12.
