I reside near Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin. I submitted several names in 2006 after reading an article about Find A Grave in The New York Times. Later, I traveled to all of the Wood County cemeteries, then to other counties, submitting more names and photos. Please don't add a new cemetery for the counties of Wood, Portage, or Adams since all of the cemeteries (except for graves on private property) are already listed.
For website rules and frequently asked questions – with answers – click on the "Help with Find A Grave" link on the left column. Also, various website procedures are listed in the contributor profiles on many of the links under "Find A Grave Friends" at the lower right. I am not an administrator of this website; other than editing memorials that I manage, I cannot resolve issues that you are experiencing (e.g., membership, missing photos, incorrect cemetery names). I am not associated with any cemetery, and have no further information on cemeteries beyond what is already shown online. Additionally, I have no further information on individuals beyond what is already shown online – without doing time-consuming research.
Abbreviated website rules concerning photographs: The copyright of all photos posted to Find A Grave remains with the original submitter. No use of photos for Find A Grave, any other website, or personal use is given without prior consent of the original submitter. Do NOT copy my photos and use them on imitation websites – especially Sysoon – or memorials on this website (you are attributing the photos as your own when you use them). However, I'll allow my cemetery and grave photos to be used elsewhere for your personal use and informational purposes with this attribution: Keith #46875326 Find A Grave. (Click on any photo to get a larger view, and to see possible captions – such as the location of the grave.)
In fairness to those who may have closer ties to a memorial, I am no longer transfering outside of the Find A Grave guidelines. I likely have had transfer requests from relatives closer than you – for the same memorials that you want to have transferred to you. Requests that are outside of the guidelines (such as aunts, uncles, cousins, etc.), or do not state relationship, will be ignored. Find A Grave's mission is to document cemeteries, "...the goal is not to 'own' every memorial of those to whom you are related." I will competently link and add your accurate information to a memorial upon your request. Again, because of the quantity of messages that I receive, transfer requests that do not follow the transfer procedure will be deleted without a response/explanation. ..................................................
"Photograph the grave/gravesite 'in-situ', or as it appears in that moment in time. The purpose is to show the grave as it is, be it dirty, cluttered, broken, or pristine. It is not your job to clean it, clear it, fix it, or decorate it. The graves are not yours to do as you please. Remember, one person's 'good deed' just might be another person's vandalism. Go take lots of photos... but do it like an anthropologist and do not disturb the grave site." —administrator AJ ..................................................
