I must apologize to everyone for signing off FAG for awhile. A bad experience with someone who was pretty nasty made me decide to take a break from Find A Grave.
However, I love genealogy and helping people and decided I couldn't let it affect me.
I am always looking for anyone with ancestors in the 7th Pa Cavalry during the Civil War.
I will gladly do searches and picture requests in upper Northumberland, Union, Montour and parts of Lycoming county. I have access to transcriptions of church records for St John's Lutheran Church and the Lutheran church in McEwensville.
I am back to work full time and my time is limited, but my brother helps me with cemetery look ups!
I have just finished transcribing the Watsontown cemetery and am working to make sure all veterans there have a marker. With a son who was in the Marines and his wife who was in the Navy, plus many family members who have served in some capacity, I have the utmost respect for our veterans. I believe it is necessary to honor those that have given so much!
I will also gladly transfer management of memorials to relatives requesting them.

Hi, I was wondering if you still had access to the photo you added to 50920576 Cyrus Hoffa, in Follmer Lutheran Church Cem. The reason being is that the photo did not get added to his wife listed on the stone Margaret AUTEN Hoffa 50920628, & their child, Franklin E. 136912296, that I just added. Discovered this while researching AUTEN....if you can & could add it to them, that would be great. Thanks, G....ps, My dad was born in Watsontown, KURTZ & Autens....Milton, pottsgrove, limestone, basically Northumberland county!...Love Milton, McDonalds now stands where one of the family houses stood...Hagg St. (sigh) modern day.... :(
|MaurerSeeker||David not Daniel|
Yes, I meant David not Daniel. Fingers sometimes don't type what I tell them to. I have been to several of the Wertman Family Assoc. reunions and usually get new information each time. I don't find an Andrew Maurer in my tree but will look more. I'll let you know,
|MaurerSeeker||re: Daniel Dieffenbacher|
re Daniel Dieffenbacher, Find A Grave Memorial# 67353525, I believe his DOB should be 19 Nov 1814, not 1844.
Also there seems to be a question about his DOD. Some have 31 Jan 1898 while others have 21 Jun 1898. Perhaps a photo of his tombstone at Stitzel Cemetery, (if any), or the McEwensville church records could straighten this out. Thanks, Earl Maurer, Chicago area.
PS I am a great grandson of Jesse Francis Wertman of Shamokin/Bear Valley area. Any connection?

Kathy, Our almost whole family tree info is on Rootsweb.com, the free version of ancestry.com. I have tried to keep it up with all the info I have so far and it has the newer generations also. It is under my name but you could search for a Derr and maybe find more thru that.
Glad to meet you and we will be in touch. As I said, I have photos to scan going back a century or so.

Thank you for posting information on Charles and Annie Derr. They were my great-grandparents and I have photos to add when I get them scanned. I have the family tree charts that Charles Derr did. He was a professional and even published a book that is in libraries. I am trying to trace a copy but I have the notes he used. I am the one in our family that does all the research and has the photos and papers. Finding this site is great and I plan to do more searches and submit more info as I have time.

Thanks for your very prompt reply. I am looking for the parents of Esther Caldwell who married Richard Pollock.
Richard was from the Exchange area also, and was born 1791. I have not had much success finding his parents either, though several researchers have him with Samuel Pollock, though he is a bit old.
Thanks for taking the time to look. If you have other business taking you to Warrior Run in the spring, please check it out!

The listing for this person at Warrior Run in Northumberland contains a photo of the headstone. Under her husband's name it says "of Derry Township......"
I can't make out the last part. Can you decipher from your original photo? There are several Derry Townships about!
Thanks for all you do,

|VASMD||John Hoffman 1817-1881|
Your Findagrave memorial for John Hoffman places him buried in St Johns Cemetery Watsontown, PA. Yet I have a picture of his headstone, which also names Lydia as his wife, in an un-named cemetery Dewart, Northumberland County. Is Deward & Watsontown near each other -- perhpas this is one and the same cemetery??
