I've always loved cemeteries; there's something very poignant, yet so very hopeful about them.
I am currently working on uploading the high resolution versions of my photos to Flickr at: http://flic.kr/ps/2PgsDe. You are welcome to use them for personal use.
*Note about transfer requests: please understand that my access to the Internet is now more limited than it was when I was more active on this site. Please allow at least 7 days to allow the transfer to be completed. Your patience and understanding is sincerely appreciated.

|Linda Jackson||Cemeteries: Jones Family, Wiesman Lot|
Hello -- I'm researching the Jones branch of my family tree and find several members listed on Find A Grave as buried in Wiesman Lot Cemetery, but Pape Index states they were buried in Jones Family Cemetery. On Find A Grave, it lists Jones Family Cemetery as defunct. Are these cemeteries one in the same-- maybe separated by sunken gravestones or something? Thank you.

Re: Emily Ann Hiestand B. 6 Mar 1825 D. 16 May 1913.
I have an old yellowed hand written piece of paper, written by an unknown ancestor, which lists the family of William McMahan Hiestand (my gg-grandfather), brother of Emily Ann Hiestand. On the piece of paper it states Emily married Rufus Hayman. Emily is also listed in William McMahan Hiestand's obituary as a surviving sister living in Jewell County, Kansas (May 1903). She and Rufus can be found on the 1860 and 1870 Census together in Vermilion Co., IL and then on the 1880 Ionia, Jewell, KS Census. They are also buried together and can be found at Find A Grave memorials #41704764 (Emily Ann) and #41704766 (Rufus Melvin). My source for their marriage was Illinois Marriages to 1850, Dodd, Jordan, IL, database online, Provo, UT, USA; Ancestry.com Operations Inc. 1997. It pulled their marriage right up. I also have an elderly cousin who remembers a story about Emily moving to Kansas and insisting on taking a purple rug with her in the move.
I'm in Illinois working for the next year, but at home I have a Hiestand family bible. I can't remember off hand if it has Emily's information in it or not. I will check that when I next go home as it's been a while since I looked at it. It seems to me I had their marriage date before seeing it on Ancestry.com. If so, it more than likely came from the bible I have.
In researching this family since 1996, I have found their last name to have been slaughtered in some instances. I am confident the Emily Ann who married Rufus Hayman is in fact my Emily Ann Hiestand.
Emily Ann was the daughter of John and Ann Walston Hiestand.

|Greg Dietrich||Searching for my Grandmother|
I am doing some research for my mother. She is looking for her birth mothers grave. The information I have is:
Name- Constance Fie
Location of Death: Outside Potomac,ILL
My mothers grandfather wrote her a letter and told her that her mom was buried outside of Rankin ILL.
Find a Grave does not list anything for my grandmother in their database. Not sure where else to take this search short of driving up there and walking through each cemetery outside Rankin.
Any help anyone can give me in helping my mom would be great. She wants to visit the grave before she gets to old to travel.

Thank you for taking time to look at his page. I wish I had an obit for him but none so far. I would also love to find his twin brother. I have no idea what happened to Albro Wilson. Thanks again for all your work with the Vermilion people!
