Bio and Links
Bio Photo After a long hiatus, I am back searching the cemeteries of central and southern IL looking for ancestors. I always take my camera, but don't have a lot of time. Summer of 2011, I hope to get to Perry, Williamson, and Saline counties. If you have a request, please give a detailed description of who's stone you would like a photo of, ie: Cemetery, Names, dates, plot # if possible.
Whenever I create a memorial, I try to give as much info as possible about that person. If you find a mistake, please let me know (courteously, of course) and I will make a correction.

---Also, I don't mind anyone using my photos for their own records, but please do not post my photos on other websites (especially Ancestry or other pay to use websites) as your own. I believe in free genealogy & I certainly do not want my work charged for by others!

Surnames that I am researching in Cent. and
South. IL: Patterson, Fouts, Breeze, Copple, Cowgur (Cowger), Gunter, Crabb, Bateman, Noller, Brittain, Just, Kramlich, Cochran, Sieka (Sicka), Schubert, Worden, Nevers, DePontaut, Stein, Geiger, & Kuhn. I am open to exchanging genealogical info on any of these families.

I also would like to thank all the cousins out there that have made contact and contributed information and files for our family on this site.

L R Woolard
Good evening.

I am reasonably certain that the tombstone photo you have posted is actually L B Woolard, Lawson Brock Woolard, my Great Great Great Grandfather. See the memorial to him, also at Ebenezer.

Bridgewater and more
Thank you for all your work. I appreciate your attention to detail. I was wondering if you had any information on where Rebecca Crain Thomas Bridgewater Abner is buried. She is my great great great grandmother. We think she was nee Crain, married an unk Thomas, married a Andrew M. Bridgewater (1800-1844), and then married Abner Evans 1860. i would love a DOB, DOD, verification of her maiden name, and who ____thomas was. ETC!
I saw where you listed Josephine Yancy in Sprague Cem as niece of Sarah Thomas Sprague and Elizabeth Bridgewater Brown. Josephine's parents were John H. Yancey and Margaret E. Bridgewater, this Margaret's mother was Rebecca Crain Thomas Bridgewater Evans.
Wow, i know this may be too much information. Just wondering if you had any info. Thank you for reading this and I am looking forward to hearing from you!! Susan

John William Copple grave
Hi Macklin,
I believe the John William Copple grave is not correct. The name John William Copple is correct, however, John William is my gr gr grandfather who died on May 2, 1857. There is another John Copple grave in Little Grove for the correct John Copple's family that you have on your description. That John died on March 17, 1858. A photo of this John is included in his page on
By the way Catherine's, John William's wife, gravestone is just to the right of John William's.
My gr grandfather is Isaac Copple. His mother, Elizabeth Chance Copple, is buried in the Salem East Cemetery near her daughter, Sarah Copple Young.
If you need any other information, please let me know.
Thank you,
Frank Copple

Little Grove Cemetery
Thank you so much Wendy for letting me know that Find A Grave and Ancestry finally got their act together and straightened out the mess they made online for this cemetery. You would think as big as Ancestry is, and the money they make from charging people for the info, they would do some research before relocating cemeteries and changing the info that others have worked so hard to enter and get right. I like you, also believe that people shouldn't have to pay for info, but that is a lost cause because there will always be people willing to pay. After writing several e-mails to both Find A Grave and Ancestry, and calling Ancestry twice, I guess they figured out I wasn't going to give up so they better do something about correcting it. I hate to see this happen to others so I posted publically so others are able to watch their postings and make sure they don't get changed without their knowledge also. Now I will have to go back to all my research, and see if I can get it all back in there.
Thanks again for letting me know.
