Bio and Links
Bio Photo After a long hiatus, I am back searching the cemeteries of central and southern IL looking for ancestors. I always take my camera, but don't have a lot of time. Summer of 2011, I hope to get to Perry, Williamson, and Saline counties. If you have a request, please give a detailed description of who's stone you would like a photo of, ie: Cemetery, Names, dates, plot # if possible.
Whenever I create a memorial, I try to give as much info as possible about that person. If you find a mistake, please let me know (courteously, of course) and I will make a correction.

READ!
---Also, I don't mind anyone using my photos for their own records, but please do not post my photos on other websites (especially Ancestry or other pay to use websites) as your own. I believe in free genealogy & I certainly do not want my work charged for by others!

Surnames that I am researching in Cent. and
South. IL: Patterson, Fouts, Breeze, Copple, Cowgur (Cowger), Gunter, Crabb, Bateman, Noller, Brittain, Just, Kramlich, Cochran, Sieka (Sicka), Schubert, Worden, Nevers, DePontaut, Stein, Geiger, & Kuhn. I am open to exchanging genealogical info on any of these families.

I also would like to thank all the cousins out there that have made contact and contributed information and files for our family on this site.

Little Grove Cemetery
By the way, I have sent messages to find a grave and have not heard anything from them, but have been told it can take months for them to get back to me.

Little Grove Cemetery
I have no idea what happened. I just went to enter a little more info on my family and found that they had changed the cemetery from Walnut Hill, Jefferson County, IL to Jefferson City, Jefferson County, IL. I have deleted my info for this cemetery, because I am not one to purposedly enter bad info and have people going to the wrong places to check things out. I thought since I entered the original info, for it to be changed I would have to change it, but I guess not since the info for the whole cemetery was changed without my knowledge. There is also a Little Grove Cemetery listed in Walnut Hill, Marion County, Il but none of that info is mine, but it is the same cemetery. The north/south dividing line for Walnut Hill is Walnut Hill Road. The south side of Walnut Hill (where the cemetery is) is in Jefferson County, and the north side of Walnut hill is in Marion County. I also checked with the Post Office and also the county and was told there is no Jefferson City in Jefferson or Marion County, in IL.
This is not the only town in IL that is in two or more counties and when people enter the info, they don't find out what county they are talking about. This is the first time my info has been changed without me changing it and it is very frustrating with all the work I have done.

Cemetery didn't just get up and move
To: Find A Grave users
Yesterday, I went to look up and add family on Find A Grave, in Little Grove Cemetery in Walnut Hill, Jefferson County, Illinois. On find a grave, this cemetery has some how been newly removed, from Walnut Hill, Jefferson County, Illinois to Jefferson City, Jefferson County, Illinois. I have a lot of family buried in this cemetery and as of yesterday, it is still located where it has always been, in Walnut Hill, Jefferson County, Illinois.
I have been on Find A Grave for over 10 years, and this is ridiculous that this has happened. When I discovered this error, I checked with others that have family buried there and they checked it out also and everyone feels that there must be someone there changing things at the site itself for this to have happened.
Please check on this and get it straightened out. The changes that are going on at Find A Grave are not helping people, just confusing them.

RE: Mary Copple Bayly
I found her maiden name based on the obit of one of her daughters, Nora. On a lark, I searched the archived newspaper files and found a very interesting article regarding her unusual death. It does state her mother's name as Mrs. Riley Copple. I saved the article as a PDF file for you but you will need to contact me and give me your e-mail so that I can send it to you. You can send it to me on the Edit tab of her daughter, memorial #63085581, or my e-mail is on my bio page.

Oscar Bonner
Hi, I'm related to Oscar Fitzallen Bonner. I don't know how closely you are related, but as I reviewed this memorial, his headstone says born in 1875, but his WWI draft application says 1877.

I've tried for years to get a copy of his birth certificate, as I am very curious why he was born so much later than his siblings. (always wondered if he was really the son of one of his listed sisters instead...) If you by any chance have a copy of that, I would be SOO grateful!

Inquiry- Jane Jackson Williams
Greetings,

I have come across this memorial for Jane Jackson Williams, indeed, quite a few times, and after cross-referencing, via Kentucky census records (1850), Miss Jackson-Williams, is my ancestor grandmother.

I have sought information on Jane and her family, but to little success. I did notice that thankfully you have provided the name of her parents, "Jane Jackson Williams was the d/o Reuben and Lydia Jackson. The Jackson family moved to Green Co., KY in the early 1800's."

I have been trying to compile as much information on Jane's parents/life/family, etc, and I was wondering if you would have the material-documents providing who Jane's parents are, anything would greatly suffice! I inquire because naturally I want to be sure that my data coincide with the names I researched, which is basically scant information. Yes, I'm a confused descendant.

I appreciate all the work you have done in providing names with faces and connecting many people to their pasts, for this I am grateful.

Also, per Ancestry.com, at least when I was a member, I noticed a few times that the Jackson name is tied in with the Lile family name. As Jane Jackson Williams and Lydia Jackson Lile, were sisters. Is there a way that these two family members could be connected on Findagrave?

Also, David Spencer Williams (Find A Grave Memorial# 75117822) is the son of Jane Jackson Williams.

I apologize for any inconvenience and hope to hear back. Again, any info regarding Jane Jackson Williams would be most grateful, namely her parents. If not, would you be able to point me in a direction of where to begin to scratch the surface.

In kind appreciation,
Wm
