We have a Chapman connection
I'm descended from Ichabod Chapman, of Chappelsburg, Cattaraugus, NY, thru his daughter Hellen Dolly Chapman Packer. Her son Alonzo is my G-G grandfather. She and James divorced ca. 1880 in Buffalo, NY. He was a printer, dying in Chicago in 1906.

I tracked her thru a sister's obit. as Mrs. H.D. Conant of Norwalk, OH, in 1919, then nothing.

I see you have her marrying a third time and dying in Norwalk in 1919. What can you tell me about her?

Re: Barton Cemetery
Saw your input about Barton Cemetery of NY. So sad to read of this but thank goodness for those who did stone readings as I did of old cemeteries within Champaign Co., OH. Just this August, I learned that a local farmer of Concord Twp. has plowed up one of those very cemeteries that I restored and read the stones thereof. :( I thought there was a law protecting them from doing that?

RE: Stephan Moffat
Can you tell me what you do know about Stephen Moffat? He is my GG grandfather and I cannot find much about him except for what I learned from the Onan website.

Thank you.

Stephen Moffat
Hello....can you tell me if Stephen Moffat was related to Sylvestor Harmon Moffitt? They each married an Onan...Sylvestor married Dortha and Stephen married Sally. Thank you!

Samantha Milk(s)
Would it be possible, for you to take a closer look at the gravestone for Samantha Milk in the Koningisor Farm Cemetery, East Leon, Cattaraugus County. You have her death listed as 1841, but looking at the gravestone photo, it looks like the death is 1844. The last digit in the year does not look like the "1" the day "10" nor like the first digit in the year. Also I can make out only the 5 in the year of her age, and not the first digit. Then it looks like it says 2 mo., but then I can't see the number of days.
I am a Milk-Milks historian, and I am getting ready to publish a new Milk-Milks book and I would like to get this right.

Thank you.

If you can't do it, I may be able to get someone else to take a look at it. I live about 4 hours away, so it's a bit of a days trip for me.

Amelia Reed.
Hello, Amelia is my Gr.Gr.Gr. Grandmother, married to John McKinley Reed. I know John is not buried there. He is buried in Beldenville Cemetery, Pierce County, Wisconsin. His son John Adrian Reed, took care of him until he died in 1908 in North Dakota, and then shipped his body back home to Wisconsin to be buried next to his second wife Julia. I would love more information on Amelia. You can email me at Thanks for posting the headstone picture. Now on to finding her parents.
