I enjoy helping others out. As well as working on my family history. If I can help in my area let me know. I will try to help get your photo and or obituary, if possible.|
However, after going out of my way to get pictures and the such, I would appreciate it if Marcia would stop trolling the findagrave site and nit picking at my and "other" contributors work, effort and help. We are all adults, or so should be.
I am human and do make mistakes, just like the rest of us. (Whether some want to admit it or not is still out for debate. LOL)
If you find a problem, please be kind when asking for corrections to be made. Most would agree that a polite contact is the best kind of contact.
Currently I am inputting information from cemetery books. I am not trying to have a bunch of memorials under my number, who cares. What I care for is to list the forgot, for those that are searching for loved ones. Not knowing where in the county they are resting. Since inputting the cemetery book info. I have had several people contact me because I had solved mysteries where their relatives are buried at.
Found this wonderful writing by: Thelma Greene Reagan.
THE RECORDING OF A CEMETERY LEAF
BY THELMA GREENE REAGAN
Today we walked where others walked
On a lonely, windswept hill;
Today we talked where other cried
For Loved Ones whose lives are stilled.
Today our hearts were touched
By graves of tiny babies;
Snatched from the arms of loving kin,
In the heartbreak of the ages.
Today we saw where the grandparents lay
In the last sleep of their time;
Lying under the trees and clouds -
Their beds kissed by the sun and wind.
Today we wondered about an unmarked spot;
Who lies beneath this hollowed ground?
Was it a babe, child, young or old?
No indication could be found.
Today we saw where Mom and Dad lay.
We had been here once before
On a day we'd all like to forget,
But will remember forever more.
Today we recorded for kith and kin
The graves of ancestors past;
To be preserved for generations hence,
A record we hope will last.
Cherish it, my friend; preserve it, my friend,
For stones sometimes crumble to dust
And generations of folks yet to come
Will be grateful for your trust.

Thank you for taking and posting the picture of my ancestor's grave marker.
I have no idea what he looked like. he died long before I was born. The information was in some of my mothers information that was passed down.
Feel free to post away.

Just discovered your memorial for #73496161 Lydia Black! She is my 4th Great Aunt. Her maiden name is DePoy. Could you link her to her parents, John DePoy #38851955, and Mary Allstat 38852236?
Thanks for your efforts!

Thanks so much for posting the pictures of the pages from my great grandfather's Bible. Are you related? My grandmother was Minnie Susan Mowrer Charles and my aunt is Lottie Irene Charles. Which of the children do you descend from? I have the genealogy of most of my great aunts and uncles. This is very exciting to see!
