Bio and Links
Bio Photo I am a retired career Firefighter from Illinois. My wife and I have also been on a volunteer fire department for years. My mother was interested in genealogy for more than 50 years and infected us with the bug more than 35 years ago. After retiring, my wife and I really began to do in depth genealogy research and enjoy trying to connect all the family information we can get a hold of. We found that Find-A-Grave was a great tool to use to help locate and link information (like trying to put a big jigsaw puzzle together). We really enjoy going to different cemeteries and taking pictures of stones for requestors across the country. It is always quiet and very seldom does anyone talk back to you.
We have done a lot of work with the cemeteries in Keokuk County, Iowa which is where my parents and several generations of my family came from. We have also started adding names from around our home area in western Illinois.
If we have entered a name of one of your friends or relatives and you wish to add it yourself, please let us know. We don't mean to offend anyone. Please let us know of any errors or corrections.
If you have any questions, E-mail us, but remember to put Find-A-Grave in the subject line.

Washington County KY Ruby Surname
I am trying to find my oldest-known grandparents’ graves. It is reported that they died in Washington County, Kentucky, and Mountford Peter handled their Wills. If you have any information on them or know of someone I can contact, please let me know!!

The rest of the Ruby family seemed to have migrated to Keokuk & Mahaska Counties in Iowa. My 2nd Great Grandparents are buried in Ollie Cemetery, Ollie, Iowa. Charles Edward Ruby & Phoebe Ann Elvira Keasling. Their son, Robert Lee Ruby, was my Great Grandfather..... Robert's son, Mettie William Ruby was my Grandfather. Mettie's oldest daughter, Sharlene June Ruby, was my mother.

Oh, how I hope you can help me!!!!!!

Thank you so much for the photo of the final resting place of Christine and Martin! This puts to rest the question of how to spell their last name. (We were running about 50/50. :)

Would you mind adding the photo to Martin's memorial as well? I'd send an extra photo request, but Findagrave keeps telling me that I'm out of photo requests. :/ I'd do it myself, but don't want to take credit for your photo!

Appreciate your help! :)

RE: Fances Clore
You are very welcome indeed. I feel blessed to be able to do this work and will continue as long as I'm able. My husband has cancer and we have so many medical appointments, but I work on it as much as I can. This is such a fantastic site and brings us all closer together. Take care and let me know any time I can help you with transfers.

Have a wonderful week!
