Bio

I am a member and Director of Plymouth County Genealogists, Inc. (PCGI), and a past President (5 years) of the Friends of Middleborough Cemeteries, Inc. (FoMC). I have researched my Family History and now really enjoy contributing to the knowledge of all people of the past. My non-family memorials focus on my town of Bridgewater, MA and the neighboring areas.

POSTERITY: I publish photos and create memorials here for the benefit of present and future generations. If you want to publish my gravestone photos on any work that you contribute to, include in the photo caption "used with the written permission of Chip5610 (#46997557) at FindaGrave" and keep a screen-print of this page for your records. Copyright laws require you to obtain permission to use a photograph, and conditionally - based on your integrity - you have it! Understand that merely attributing credit does not comply with the law. (added on April 10, 2019 - Thank you to all the people who have expressed their appreciation for my liberal policy here, as well as those who have made this theirs too! Going forward, if anyone sends me an email asking for explicit permission to use my photos, then I will say NO. I understand that you are honoring copyright law, and that is commendable! Now remember, I granted permission based on one's integrity. Adapt and embrace - I have intentionally made this easy for good people!

Building a cemetery index: I invested a lot of time developing and maintaining the cemetery page listings for Southeastern Massachusetts and several other counties in the state. I add new cemeteries and I remove "incorrect" cemeteries. I improve existing cemetery pages by adding cemetery photos and the GPS coordinates. To each cemetery description, I added the GR identifiers from the MA Vital Records books and the MACRIS identifier to each Massachusetts cemetery description. MACRIS identifiers are an important first step in protecting a Massachusetts cemetery. Knowing where a cemetery is located is the first step in preserving the cemetery and finding a grave.

Assistance: The structure of the site engenders collaboration. The "Suggest a Correction (SAC)" feature is great, so use it liberally! My e-mail was set-up specifically for FindaGrave matters, so feel free to send as many SACs as you want. This is a great hobby, and I will work with anyone, happily! My only request: Say 'Thank You'!
