Martha Arnold Higgs Beverfly
Benjamin Franklin Higgs became ill while in CSA service, and was sent home on furlough. He died on the train, while traveling home. Some records state "He died and was put off in a small Georgia town" Others state that "He died, and was put off in Macon, Georgia", and that he is buried in the Confederate Cemetery there. None appear to be accurate.

Great Grandmother outlived Great Grandfather William Beverly by some 10 years. In their last years, they lived with my maternal Grandparents, Samuel, and Josephine Thomas, fairly close to Ben James Cemetery, in pierce County, Georgia.

William and Martha were Mormons, and members of Little Utah Church, at Axson, Georgia. The church is gone now, but the cemetery is still very active. For this reason, although the death certificate may state otherwise, I seriously doubt that they ever entertained the idea of being buried anywhere other than Little Utah.

Thanks

Great Grandmother Martha Arnold Higgs Beverly is not buried in Ben James Cemetery, Pierce County, Georgia.

She rests in Little Utah Cemetery, in Atkinson County, Georgia.

Would you please correct her information?

Thank you

RE: Inez Sorrels Bliss, Florida
Inez has two living sons; James A. Bliss of Land o' Lakes, FL and Charles Alan Bliss of Lutz, FL. You might try looking them up in the white pages and maybe finding phone numbers for them. I wish you luck in your search.

RE: George A Bozeman, LA cem photo
It was no problem at all. Glad to be able to help. I can't understand why it wasn't photographed before; everything else in the plot has been photographed.
Maybe they did not think it was a headstone(which, in fact, it isn't) but it marks the spot where he is buried, according to the cemetery records.

RE: ST. REGIS CEMETERY - WORTH COUNTY, GEORGIA?
Its something I hope to do. I wish i were there it would be much easier. My 4th great grandfather buried out there had a number of kids and grandkids very important to Worth County. His son Stephen Willis Holton was Sheriff of Worth County, his son Virgil was i think tax receiver as well as a local doctor, his grandson Thyal was tax receiver, and his great grandson William Buron Holton was i believe tax receiver and ordinary for many many years beginning at a young age in his 20s. They became a very strong and important name. And i hate seeing cases like that where they are forgotten.. And how lonely his grave must be hidden deep in the woods in Worth County. And as far as I know its been over 30 years since anyone visited the site....
You had a great idea ill have to try and look into about finding the owner of the land snd trying to get the county to cut a dirt path out there. I wonder what County office i could contact.. Perhaps the newspaper as well. Cheers

Hello dear... Thank u.. Im all over it. I actually found it already a few days ago and I sent it to the vintage Worth County guy Randall Davis Barfield. I've found a ton of things so far.. Today i found my 3rd great grandma's obit. I need to change his info on here... If ur on Facebook i posted his obit on the vintage Worth County group.

Thanks so much for all u do.. If u discover anything else I'd sure appreciate it... I am so excited about the archives. I've spent hours so far looking. Many peoples names are abbreviated or spelled wrong so its hard.
Thanks, I'll change his profile

Parent links already made. No point duplicating names, again.

RE: ST. REGIS CEMETERY - WORTH COUNTY, GEORGIA?
Not sure if i told you, but someone knew where the cemetery is. Its near that landing strip apparently.
Someone i met on Facebook who is a distant cousin attempted to go there 2 weeks ago but the road was impassable.. So she is currently trying to get someone willing to go with her and maybe walk to it.. Its so amazing.. There are hidden cemeteries buried and lost in the woods.. As far as I know no one has visited it since 1983. That book you mentioned is the same one im sure that I know about.

Thanks for your help.. Hopefully someone can get to St Regis and document it. I wish i could buy it or something and preserve it.. My 4th great grandfather Van Holton and one woman had the only 2 standing stones when documented in 1983.
