Bio Photo Here I am ... search'n for grave markers in a remote cemetery & drive'n my ATW (All Terrain Walker)

I have recently passed a photo threshold ... over 1,000 photo requests fulfilled ... an accomplishment of which I am very pleased. Age and the cost of traveling to cemeteries on my 'beat' has slowed me down; but I still get out to make the rounds from time to time ... solely at my pace.

Anyone should feel free to 'grab' the photos of grave markers which I own (& have posted to the Find a Grave memorials) for use in personal family trees or another venue; and, in such event, credit to my ownership, while appreciated, is not necessary. That being said, I do make it a policy NOT to e-mail copies of original images (to which I own proprietary rights) directly to anyone.

Sorry ...

RE: Melvin Vaughn ~ Mt Zion Cemetery
Mr Wilson,

I want to thank you again for your response concerning Melvin Vaughn. With the information you shared I have been able to find his Death Certificate that shows he died 26 Nov 1928.

Was also able to find Bettie Jean Vaughn's (spelled Betty Gene on the certificate) that shows she was born 2 Aug 1928 and died 4 Sep 1928.

M H and Effie Vaughn had a daughter, Dorothy Mae, born in 1923. Since she is not in the M H Vaughn household in the 1930 census I tend to believe that the third child in that family lot is her, though, so far, I have not been able to find any documentation to support this theory.

I have talked to both ladies listed on the sign at Mt. Zion, Joan Stringer and Yvonne Rollins. Turns out they are both Vaughn relatives. Your kindness not only helped solve the mystery of Melvin and Bettie Jean but also got me in touch with two cousins.

Thanks again,

Daniel Vaughn

RE: Mt Zion Cemetery

If the photos have shadows across them, I prefer to wait on another volunteer.

I ask for the e-mail photos because they are higher resolution and I wish to put these photos in my genealogy files for my kids, grandkids and great-grandkids to have when I am gone.

I mean no disrespect.

Have a great day!

M. B. Rash
Thank you very much for the photo of M. B. Rash's stone Mr. Wilson. Based on this photographic proof I was able to update the memorial to reflect her full first and middle names as well as her maiden name Walling.

Your All Terrain Walker photo really made me laugh...thank you!

RE: Melvin Vaughn ~ Mt Zion Cemetery
Mr Wilson,

Thank you very much for your efforts to locate Melvin Vaughn's grave. The information you provided help to clarify the location of Melvin. It also, we believe, verifies what we already thought, that is, that this section of the Mount Zion Cemetery "belonged" to Maud Hughes Vaughn and his wife Effie who are actually buried in the Wheeler Cemetery, Wheeler, TX.

Maude's last name on the stone being written in the possessive, "Vaughn's," to us denotes this was their plot by ownership. With the new information you provided it also denotes that there are three of M. H. Vaughn's children buried in their family lot.

If we wanted to place a marker on Melvin's grave is there someone we can contact to identify his grave, Space 8?

Again, thank you for your help.

p.s. Is your ATW standard or automatic shift?
