Bio and Links
Bio Photo I have been doing family history research for over 12 years. Needless to say, it has become a passion. I have visited many county Genealogical Societies in PA, MD, VA and NC and have received a great deal of assistance from the local volunteers. Becoming a volunteer on Find A Grave is a small way for me to repay their kindness. I look forward to taking a lot of pictures!

I will gladly transfer any memorial. I will add or correct information as quickly as possible. Please use the edit tab on the memorial to send any corrections, additional information or to request transfers.

If you can not reach me through FaG please feel free to always use my Juno email.

RE: Hubert Lenvil Greer
Thank you so much. My husbands grandmother is wanting to visit Tommy one last time, as he is her son, but we didn't know where he was buried. Thank you for your time.

Hubert Lenvil Greer
Hello! I am looking for some information that you may be able to help me with. Hubert Greer is my husband's grandfather. My husband's grandmother recently told me that her and Hubert's infant son is buried with Hubert's father, that you have listed as John M. Greer. Could you tell me if John Greer is buried at McDowell memorial? Their infant son's name is Tommy, is there a marker for him?

Thank you so very much,
Jatanna Willis

RE: William Grantham
You're very welcome! I found him during a search for another William H. Grantham, and there are 3 of them from virtually the same area in North Carolina. So I've been able to narrow it down to 2. :-) Blessings, Sandi :-)

The year of death should read 1969 and not 1939

William Brackett
RE: Benjamin William Brackett
Hello Donna Thomas
Thanks for your request, just to let you know I am no expert by any means at genealogy,
what I have learned through Civil War research and using the internet as well as 3 family books,
I have found the following info about my family members that came to Old Tryon, NC in 1772 from Charleston, SC in 1767.
Find A Grave 84263240 shows that Benjamin was the son of Benjamin Brackett and Elizabeth (Upton) Brackett.
Benjamin Brackett of the Carolina's, by Shirley Brown Adair
Benjamin 1740-1810 & Ann ? Brackett, (Benjamin, Rebecca, Adkins, Mary, William, Ruel),
Benjamin 1770-1822 & Elizabeth Upton Brackett children are:
Daniel L., Nancy, John, Edkins or Edward, Jane, William, Felix
There are 3 graves beside
B. W. Brackett in Brackett Town Cemetery / Hooper-Owens,
in McDowell, Co. NC
Nancy A. Find A Grave 49880092
Albert L. s/o WA & E Find A Grave 49880120
Johnnie s/o WA & E Find A Grave 84284068
Benjamin Brackett of the Carolina's, by Shirley Brown Adair
Adkins Brackett father of:
Barney Walton Brackett & Nancy A. Adkins d1858 & Sarah McCurry
had a son William Adolphus Brackett & Elizabeth Brackett,
both Barney & William Adolphus served in the CSA,
had 2 sons Albert L. & Jonnie, who are buried with their grandfather.

We have copies of the CSA records of both B. W. Brackett and his son
although I believe there was some confusion as to a middle initial and
William Adophus stone was made as William D.
and I am working with the CSA unit in NC to correct this, he is buried in Bethel cemetery NC.
