|Since retiring in 2000 I have undertaken the task of locating graves of as many descendants as possible.|
(1) Of my mother's oldest ancestor, Jonathan Whilden, who entered Charleston 1695.
Whilden, although, essentially an unknown name now, played a historical part in the Civil War from relaying the order to fire the 1st shot of the war to leading the defense at The Bloody Angle-Spottsylvania Courthouse.
(2) Of my fathers oldest ancestor, who entered Charleston 1768 with his family from Killyleagh, County Down, Northern Ireland. Many of these migrated west to Georgia, Alabama, & Texas.
As indicated I retired in 2000, live in Lancaster, SC, have a wonderful wife of 47 years, 2 children and 2 grandchildren that like all grands I love to be obnoxious about.
Will gladly take pictures for any looking in this area.

|Sharon Palmer||Cleland Family|
I left a message for you about your request of Missouri Cleland and James Cleland. Went to the Franklin Cemetery and the only Cleland family in the cemetery,is a small stone of Cleland in the center and around it was one for Mom (Missouri)? one for Dad and then one for J A (James)? and a few more with Sis and others. Do you want the one of Mom and J A and the one with Cleland on it, or just forget because not sure of who they are. Sharon
I have not heard from you about the Cleland Family and if you want me to post the pictures or not. In a few days I am going to delete them if I don't here from you. Thank, Sharon

Could you give me directions to the Cureton Cemetery? The map on Find A Grave doesn't seem to be right.

I've already reposted it correctly on my grandfather's page, so this one (on Geneva's flower page) needs to be deleted. I tried but couldn't find a way to delete myself and thought the web page Administrator would have to do it.

Went to the cemetery and took pictures of the only Cleland's there. In the center of the plot was a stone with Cleland and spaced around that were a stone for Mom (Missouri)? and one for Dad, then J A (for James?) and one for Sis and a few others. Could this be the Cleland Family and do you want me to add the pictures? My husband and I walked the whole cemetery and did not see another Cleland. Please let me know.

As a family member doing research for a project. I was very appreciative of how much information you were able to contribute to my Pappy's page.
Thank you very much!
I was glad to be able to fulfill your request.
