I enjoy photographing stones especially before they are lost to time and the elements. It's incredible how even in ten years time how much a stone can deteriorate.
Every person in a cemetery was once someone's daughter, son, father, mother, brother or sister and they all have a story to tell and they were all once important to someone.

Hi! I noticed that you created memorials for John A and Emma Burkey 912590671 and 125906962) buried at the Zion Cemetery in Clarington, OH. John's parents were John and Sacrisia (Dillon) Burkey. We have a copy of Sacrisia's OH death certificate Jan. 11, 1916. It states that she is also buried in the Zion Cemetery. If you make it back out to the Zion Cemetery, I'd be interested in seeing a headstone that may exist for the parents John and Sacrisia Burkey. Thank you for all the hard work you are doing.

|Neal||John Strauch, Mary Mann|
John Strauch and Mary Mann are my great-great grandparents. In 1850 census records they were in Zwitzerland township, Monroe county, Ohio. I have found a record of their daughter Catherine Blattler who died in 1930 and is buried in Zion Cemetery, Monroe county, Ohio. Is it possible that this is the same as Zion Methodist Cemetery and that Mary Mann Strauch is buried there also. In addition I have found a 1900 census record where Mary Mann was living with Catherine and Christian Blattler in Adams township, Monroe county, Ohio. Mary's husband John, who was a Methodist minister and died in 1880, is buried in Jeffersonville, Clark county, Indiana. Any assistance you can provide will be greatly appreciated.

|TomArbour||Forney Cemetery Birds Run|
My name is Tom Arbour and I live in Columbus- I believe we may have talked in the past about the cemeteries in the Birds Run area. I recently visited Forney Cemetery, where my great great grandmother Armintha Thomas is buried. Thank you for your photo of the neighboring memorial for Samuel Johnson, her brother. When I visited the cemetery last week, this stone had toppled over, and the engraving was laying face down in the soil. I turned it over, but it was very difficult to read. In your photo posted here, it is still readable- thank you very much for your work to preserve the headstones at Forney Cemetery.
|darthvader501||Martha Umstott 1866-1918|
Hi, I saw a comment of yours on the page for Martha Umstott Fuller Eagon. Since you have done research on the Umstotts, do you have any info regarding Martha's first husband, James Fuller? I notice the FindAgrave page indicates they were married in Tusc. Co. in 1889 but I can't confirm that by looking at the Marriage Index on Tuscogene.com (and come up with nothing on familysearch)// I am quite curious about what happened to James Fuller. I can find no trace of him after 1900 in Lorain OH and it appears Martha took only their daughter and moved to Belmont County somewhere around 1902-1904. Any insight you can provide would be very much appreciated. thanks, Sherry
