My Great Great Uncle
Thank you so much for having taken and posted this photograph.

Hurshul Venus Yancey is the brother of my great grandfather, Lewis Davis Yancey, so he is my great great uncle.

I have been researching my family, Yancey, for years now and trolling the internet, grasping at what ever little threads might present themselves.

It was so great to see this picture and memorial.

His name has been spelled so many ways, Hurshul, Herschel, Hershel, that unless you try just the right one, you could get a "not found" result, as I have prior to trying this spelling.

To see the actual memorial along with a picture, makes tangible that which seems rather unreal after a while.

Thank you again,

Carlton Wesley Yancey cwyancey@yahoo.com

Many, many thanks for taking this picture for me. It has been a long search for me and I am so grateful to you. I live in California
and hope to do a Southern tour one day and visit River View.
