| Bio and Links | I am a PK (Pastor's Kid), so I have lived in many different places during my lifetime, and I don't really claim any one of them as "home", although I did live in northern Virginia for 25 years as an adult.
But both of my parents were both born and raised in the farming community of Meadow, near Benson, NC, and both of their families have lived in Johnson County for generations. This makes it relatively easy to research my ancestors. But there are over 1000 cemeteries in Johnston County, and many of them are not easy to find. I enjoy visiting cemeteries and looking for an unexpected surprise.
I enjoy taking photos for other people who are not so lucky to have most of their ancestors in one geographical area. I think of my grave searches as scavenger hunts. | |

 | RE: millie I am in Tennessee but I visit Meadow 4 or 5 times yearly to visit my father in law Bo Tart who lives on Noah Rd . He was married to Ruth Barefoot . That explains my interest and involment . The Barefoot Mclamb Cemetery is on their land. The Pink Barefoot cemetery is not far either . My wife Sue Bernadette Tart-Justis has a cousin Randy Kinsey took me to the J A Barefoot Cemetery and that is when I discovered the errors as I saw it. I have learned a lot thanks to you and Gloria Johnson about a better way to resolve issues in the future . | | | TJOTM

 | Keen memorials Thanks so much for the pictures of the Keen family's headstones and thanks for pointing out the discrepancy between the death dates for Gideon. I still don't know which is accurate. All the research I find says one thing and the gravestone says another. I really like seeing the pictures of the headstones because it's a great double check on the birth/death data. Thanks again. | | | | [View all messages...] |
