Hello from Ferris Stephen Waller Sr. |
I was born in the year 1938 in an upstairs apartment above a bakery on Haines Street in down town Plant City, Fl. My father and mother were Marcus W. Waller Jr. & Oneita M. Wright Waller.
Some of our kin came to Florida in the late 1800's. My grandparents were from, on my dads side, Ashford, & Cottonwood in Houston County, Alabama, & on my mothers side, Tabor City, Pireway, Hallsboro, in Columbus County, North Carolina. My grandfather Marcus W. Waller Sr. was a farmer, when he was not fishing. My grandfather Ferris S. Wright had a furniture & hardware store in Plant City. As I grew up most of my time was spent working in the store. (Wright's Furniture & Hardware). My family bought the store from my grandmother Lutie V. Wright, in 1955 ?. The name was changed to Waller's Hardware. The store is still being operated by our family as Waller's Power Equipment.
Now why am I here? I don't drink, I don't smoke, I don't golf, I don't fish, what else is there to do?
My plan is to take as many photos as time permits. I still run a couple of business, and mow lots of grass, so my time is not unlimited.
Most of the photos that I will take, will be of people that I knew, classmates, customers from my many years in business, (hardware store, TV repair, flea market). I will enter information about the person to the best of my memory. Please contact me if you find any of my information that is not correct.
Forgive my writing, high school only, and English was my weak subject. (I failed 11th grade english)
I married Peggy Pless the grand-daughter of Albert Pless. The Pless family is an old pioneer family of Hillsborough County. The Pless Family Cemetery is located just off of Pless Road.
Below is a link to the cemetery.
The names of some of my kin are Waller, Wright, Gore, Mabry, I am sure there are others that I don't know of. My parents and most of our older folks have pasts.
I have created only a few hundred memorials, most of these are family or friends and acquaintance. Almost all contain photos that I took. There are only a few memorials that are unknown to me. These are the ones that I got while taking volunteer photos request. I will transfer, to family members, any of the unknowns that I have created,
I have sponsored almost 500 memorials. This is my way of contributing money to Find A Grave. I hope that my small contribution will help FAG to always remain free to everyone. I once sponsored a large family of more than 20 people. They were all friends of my grandmother my parents and myself. For some unknown reason the entire family and a few others disappeared from Find A Grave. For this reason I am reluctant to transfer memorials that I have sponsored.

Thank you for linking Ruby to her parents, I really appreciate it.
More and more I find that when I send update material or linking requests, nothing changes at all. So thank you again!
If you receive any questions on from anyone on the Helms family, I would be happy to try to help them. And I do try to document all of my work.

No at all related. Just posting death certificates and trying to link family. This will make researching family much easier on future generations. Also it may encourage conversation and collaboration from other family members that may have relevant history.

That is odd. I did speak to her widow Mr. Baggett two days ago and he just said she was his wife.Ferguson was the last name of her first husband by whom she had a child.Baggett is the name under which her obit was printed and the same name is listed for her Florida death record and her social security death record, so I think in view of that, I will leave the last name at Baggett. Thank you for telling me all this, it is indeed quite strange.
Thank you so much for her picture also, I do appreciate it very much!

HI Ferris, Thank you so much for the photos that you have added on the family. So thoughtful of you. I never knew any of these cousins of mine. Fred's great grandfather was my gr-gr-gr grandfather and that is our link. So great to e-meet someone who knew the family. I do not have any info on Tom, but if I find anything I will certainly let you know.
