|Originally from the South Hills area of Pittsburgh, PA, I now live north of Philadelphia, PA and have been involved with genealogy my entire life. Having relatives that have been in the United States since the 1700's makes it a long, tough, interesting journey to find out information about them. I especially enjoy researching the various wars that they have been involved in from the Revolutionary War through the current ones. The internet makes things a lot easier than it used to be.|
I am always interested in certain family names such as: Fife/Patterson, Breinig/Lattien, Brown/Thomas and Cyprych/Rudzki from the Pittsburgh area. The other names are Lare/Austin, McKinley/Hasenpflug, Miller/Weisler and Sheeler/Retallick from the Philadelphia area.

|Susan Peterson||Sarah McKinley|
Yes, Sarah McKinley is my great grandmother. I was also told that she was related to President McKinley. I haven't found a connection to that, but at some point back when Ancestry.com had an easy way to show you all your relatives, I did see that we were related to President McKinley's wife. I can't remember her name right now, but she wasn't a McKinley. So, kind of ironic.
I also don't have anything further back than you do. Everything I have is at Ancestry under the name thehappypetersons. Let me know if you can't find my tree. It's named Peterson.

I have fulfilled your transfer request. Please forgive the lateness on this.
Transfer made Scott. I've had so many people claim a relationship just to have all people with the same surname whether they are related or not. And, then when real family come along it's gone. Glad to transfer.

Scott, I only transfer to people within the four generation guidelines. How exactly are you connected to Christopher? I know you said cousin, but which family member do you connect to him through? I know several of the family members, and if you are, indeed, closely related, I might consider transferring. Please respond through his memorial - #50856133.

I see you messaged this person recently. He is not responding to my several suggestions. I wonder if he is active. Any thoughts?

Thank you for your interest and your note.
I have given your request great consideration & after speaking to other direct Fife descendants, I am choosing to keep these Memorials in my care. I live more than 3 hours from the Bethel Park area and made a special trip to research the family of my Aunt Louella Fife. I have asked several other Fife family direct descendants in the past what I should do in these kind of situations and they advised me to keep the graves because there is just no way to fairly choose which descendant should get them.
I would be more than happy to update any information on any of the memorials or make corrections at any time.

As far as I know my family lived and died in the South Side, Allentown, and Beltzhoover neighborhoods of Pittsburgh.
That 8 Pius St. was Jacob Breinig's house, it must of been a family flop house, for I find it in a couple of records. Also it is a couple of doors down from St. Michaels church.
Let me know if this helps!
Any tips on researching records for Germany?
Thanks again and keep in touch,
