Bio and Links
Bio Photo I like cemeteries because they are like outdoor museums whether for my own family history or a community's history. The grave-markers are sometimes the only image one has of an ancestor. Truly, the only way to 'preserve' a cemetery is to list the inscriptions (aka 'read a cemetery')and take photos of the grave markers.

NOTICE TO THOSE LEAVING MESSAGES: Please do not send or leave me a message if I can't do the same with you.

NOTE to photographers: Please don't add photos [of grave markers] to memorials that already have photos unless yours is outstanding - seriously - there is no need to have multiple photos if the ones already on the memorial are done well. There are so many memorials that do need photos -- try to find those and contribute in that way - it will be appreciated so much more by all.

MESSAGES: I discard messages periodically to keep the list at a manageable length.

Mortons
I was told that Adam Archie Morton is in John Little-Morton Community Cemetery and is at 8449 Rocky river Rd. Oakboro,NC and is owned by Reggis Burris also it is in the middle of a cow pasture.
I asked the funeral home and this is what they told me.

RE: 105904264 (Paul Clyburn)
Patricia,
Thanks as always! I did not know about the edits. By the way, Paul Clyburn's first wife was Annie Caroline Blakeney, sometimes referred to as "Annie" or "Caroline". Found this on Ancestry.com as well as from one of his son's wife who still lives in Wingate,NC.

Thank You so much for adding the Picture of Mattie's new Cemetery Marker, it is truly beautiful. Again, also many thanks for all of your prior work involved with Her Father, Weary Clyburn.

I have installed your Picture on the Top of all the Pictures, for Her Memorial. God Bless, Cindy.

Thank you so much for getting the photo. It confirms my research that she was the wife of Doc Cash. I really appreciate it!!

Thank you for letting me know. I have had a lot of contact lately about this little cemetery. How generous of Mr. Barbee to place a stone in her memory. I wish more cared about honoring those who have gone on before us.

RE: Malinda Evelyn Austin Fowler James
I believe the man in the center with the bowed head is Rueben James. That hat is consistent with the hat he is wearing in other pictures on your library site.

I can positively identify the woman to his right as Gilie James Colvard (his granddaughter and my grandmother). The three small girls to her right are Mildred Colvard (Gregory), Carrie Elizabeth "Libby" Colvard (Cantrell, my mother), Jean Colvard (Morris). The man with dark hair and no had in the middle of the children is QE Colvard

Photos for comparison are available here:

Thanks for your posting. I am going to send an annotated photo with these id's to the geneology site at the library.
