Bio and Links
Bio Photo .I use Familysearch all of the time. Not every detail is accurate but it gives you a jumping off point. I have just been playing around in the Familysearch Family Tree and I have notice that "Stories and Documents" section have familysearch members "Copy/Pasting" from Find A Grave Memorials. A few of them MINE. I like to think I am a story teller though my guys think I am just long winded.
. A LOT of time and energy goes into research and writing the stories on My Memorials. My Family and people who have gotten a hold of me and led me on the trail of their lives so I could tell their story, but they are no relation to me or mine or indirect connection. IF YOU are going to "Copy/Paste" these stories, NOT just mine but Every contributor on this SITE, who puts in the energy and sometimes expense of creating these Memorial pages PLEASE give the Find A Grave MEMORIAL #'s at the very least:::OR SOURCE IT in the Source section.
Please Use the information, that is why I put it out there on Find A Grave, most of it is fully verified, but use at your risk. IF you "Copy/Paste" please give my Memorial # credit so I can smile to my guys, 'some people appreciate my long winded." It is not like we get paid for this research. Please Do not steal our efforts and have it look like yours on Familysearch or Ancestory.

.Grampa understood that 'doing' is the best teacher. When I was 7, during Thanksgiving vacation, my teacher asked us to ask any visiting relatives, about their parents and grandparents and we will be able to fill what she called our family tree.
I took Grampa's clues and I looked up info. in encylopedia's my parents had. My great teacher allowed me to bring home a globe, to help with my interest in this topic. Grampa and I had our heads over that globe all evening. He showed me how to find the similiar map, flat in those encylopedias, by comparing the letters,(which I knew and loved) in a word, no matter how big, to know I had a match.
. Grampa died of cancer, just weeks after that incredable project.
> My Uncle Bill has much of these same teaching skills. He took this niece with so many questions to the other end of the cemetery, and showed me who was there, that I could call mine. He took me to the family's homestead, in Fruita, that was nothing resembling what it was when he married my Mom's sister, and described what he remembered. I Walked in their footsteps.
Thirty years later, it was his words in my eyes and Grampa's in my ears, that took me to a place, I call home.
. If you serve your country, in the Military, Police Force, Fire Departments or in the Schools. For what it is worth, you have my gratitude.
. When I fulfill a request, I will get every family member, surounding my original request. If I can catch connecting names, either in the field or in the records, I get those as well. IN family plots I always try to find those within the plot that do not have stones{maybe there was a stone but the GOPHERS got there before me} and forward that info.
THe pic on my bio was a great man who believed in being kind. If someone does something for you you repay them. I have spent my life trying to honor him.
This site those people who have helped me the most: Nancy K, Chantell, Shirleen, Kara and others there is nothing I CAN Do to help them in the way they have helped me. So I try to pay it forward. By finding these burials and everyone in them and trying to track down and link the entire family.
I cannot THANK YOU people enough. So I hope doing for someone I can help, shows how grateful I AM TO YOUR HELP.

As a child, I wanted to time travel backward. Now there are people I want to meet.
History is my Passion. Knowing how my Family Connects is the Cream on top.

RE: Susannah Evered Quantrille Riddle
Susannah would be my (insert the appropriate amount of "greats" here) grandmother. I've been working on the line for years now. I appreciate all the detail and work you do on your posts.

Just a note to tell you, I put a request in for a picture of the headstone at Ben Lomand. I was informed she doesn't have a headstone. It might be noted on your memorial, but I didn't see it.

RE: Elizabeth Allison Photo
I took my photos so long ago that if you see any Allison/Nowels memorials while you are wandering and photo them, that would be fantastic. My camera and iPhone are much better than what I had back in 2000 when I last visited. I do hope to return some day to retake some of those photos, but it could be another 5 years before I can. Loved your deer story . . .
Sorry the office wasn't more help, not sure if I could find Grandma without some help. I have lots of family in both cemeteries but Mt. Olivet is where my grandmother and uncle are buried, along with the more distant cousins, great aunts, etc. Thank you again.

LOL - just realized that she was still living when I took those other photos, can't believe how long it has been since I was in SLC, but that's why I posted the request I guess. Knowing I might not get a chance to ever return, although I hope some day to get a stone for my mother and uncle added to grandma's area since they were both scattered at sea and have no other record. Thank you again.

Thank you so much for the photo of Aunt Elizabeth's tombstone. I don't know how I missed it when I was there many years ago taking photos of grandma and my other aunts and uncles, but I did. She was a very special woman. I really appreciate this.

Mary Ann Abel
Thanks for the research into the Abel Family, I have made almost all the recommended changes. I can't verify myself, am basing her birth place on the placard: Married in Ohio, born in Tennessee. I appreciate the polite comments by all, nice reading, and hope I am included among you as friend. Cheers, MS1958

I am so pleased!! You can e-mail my eyes out all you want, and I will be happy to hear from you. You have done your best to honor these people, and I wanted to be sure they were honored also. Their faithfulness - far greater than my own - has been an inspiration to me, as it clearly has been to you. I wish you would stay in touch. I appreciate the depth of your feeling - your love - for these people whom you have never met, and I am pleased to know you.

Kindest regards,

Michael Shea, MD

Elijah Abel
Oh, I see. The original contributor misspelled Elijah's last name, and presumably Mary Ann's as well. I have suggested a correction, and once that has been done I will delete my own version.

Thank you,

Elijah and Mary Ann Abel
Thank you for your comments regarding memorials for Elijah and Mary Ann Abel. I created my own memorials after I searched the data base and found nothing. Even now I am not able to find any other memorials for them. Were their names spelled correctly? As I spent $10 having adds removed from their memorials, I will leave the ones I created intact until this issue can be resolved.
