Adding obituaries
This is the Find A Grave help's guidelines on adding obituaries.

Can I add a memorial from a newspaper or other 3rd party source?
Find A Grave does not discourage the legitimate indexing of the deceased through obituaries or other 3rd party accounts. Newspapers represent a very good source of information as a public record. What we ask is that those who index and memorialize the deceased from newspapers and other 3rd party accounts do so with full respect of copyright, refrain from adding information about living people, and respond generously to the family of the deceased. Should anyone related to the deceased feel unsatisfied with Find A Grave or the memorial manager, we ask that they contact us at support@findagrave.comfor satisfactory resolution.

Find A Grave takes no position on the appropriate timing of submitting such indexes. [Top]

Can I add an obituary to my interment listing?
You should not copy obituary notices from newspapers (or from funeral home notices or web sites) to an individual's memorial record unless you have permission from the newspaper to do so or you are the author of the obituary. Some obituaries that were published in 1922 or earlier are now in the public domain. In general, obituaries in newspapers are submitted by the family with assistance from the funeral home. If the obituary is added to the memorial record, it should list the newspaper and date the obit was printed for example "Published in the Hattiesburg American, Hattiesburg, Mississippi, Internet Edition, April 11, 2007". Please do not include the names of living or surviving relatives in the biography, unless you have their permission. If you do not have permission to copy an obituary to a memorial, you may put a note stating the name of the newspaper and the date the obituary was published.
Please do NOT add photographs from obituary notices (unless you, personally took the photo), as they are protected by copyright law. Find A Grave reserves the right to remove obituary notices and photographs from memorial records. Similarly, you may NOT scan an obituary and add it as a photograph to a memorial record.
Obituaries for "famous" individuals are usually written by newspaper staff and can not be posted to Find A Grave as the newspaper company owns that copyright.
Please do not include website addresses that may be listed in the obituary as they usually expire within a year after the obituary is printed. [Top]

Dubose,Lillian
According to the records at Mobile Memorial Gardens Cemetery she is not buried there. I did find her husband Oscar Clyde Dubose's resting place and there is a spot on the grave marker for another name but it's blank. I can't tell if there was one at one time for her and it got damaged during ground keeping work or what. See photo for memorial #44550853. If you can come up with any additional information I'll be glad to try again. If the family is positive that she is at MMG I suggest they contact the cemetery to clear things up.

RE: Andrew Snelgrove
That is so interesting and nice to find some of my kin who I didn't even know. That makes us doubly kin since you are related to the Snellgroves & Langleys and Sumralls & Cooleys. Now do you have brothers and sisters or were you an only child?
I have 1 brother (William) and he is still living. I also had 1 sister (Cindy) who has passed away. I have a tree on ancestry.com also if you care to take a look at it. Perhaps you could help me trace back my grandpa Sumralls tree. Mama and Uncle Terry Sumrall always said that his mother was Emma Bates, but I notice that Sarah Sally Overstreet is listed on ancestry.com and on find a grave as his mother. But, Emma Bates is listed as a wife of his father. Do you have any information about that?

RE: Andrew Snelgrove
I did see your tree. I also noticed that you are related to some Wests. I am also related to some Wests through my mom's side of the family. They were Sumralls, and my grandmothers family were the Cooleys from Shubuta/Waynesborro area. Do you know any Sumralls or Cooleys and are you related to any of them that you know of? All of my family were from the Shubuta/Waynesborro area. We moved to Florida years ago with daddy's work. The Snellgroves were loggers and woodsmen (which is what daddy's profession was, as he was a stumper). Daddy and 3 of his brothers all came here to Florida at the same time, along with my grandparents (Sumralls). But, much of their family stayed there is MS. You may know Aunt Christine McKee.
