I've been researching my family lines for over 20 years and the thrill hasn't diminished.|
I enjoy taking pics at the cemeterys and submitting them in the hopes that someone will gain more family history and also because so many of the tombstones are fading or have broken thru the years. If any descendant objects to their ancestor being memorialized, please let me know and I'll remove the memorial.
I would like to give away every NON-RELATED memorial to people who have more information to add, so don't hesitate to ask; in your request, please include the memorial number (or a link to it) and your own Find-a-Grave member number.
I'm a photo rescuer - I often find old photos at flea markets and antique shops for a dollar or two with information written on the back of them. I try to find a family researcher to give the photo to or I will look for their findagrave site to add the picture to. If you see a photo and do not beleive that it belongs with the site or person please let me know to remove it. I add the photos to be shared.I can't guarantee who they are but can only go by what someone has taken the time to write on them, so if its not correct information I hope someone will let me know. I like to rescue them from being lost or destroyed, in the hopes that someday someone will find one my of lost photos.
FAMILY NAMES that my husband and I are researching: Livingston,Menke, Wiebler,Rempe,Groene, Rutledge,Bryant, Shawgo, McNew, Portlock, Tischbein, Rankin, Herd/Heard, Bailey.

I just found the other Hunter sister at Find A Grave Memorial# 29217339, if you want to post the photo of the 2 sisters there as well. Their father was a lumberman...note the large felled tree behind them.

RE: Find A Grave Memorial# 106416375.
Thanks so much for posting the antique store-found pic of my 3rd cousin 3 times removed!!
I am always buying photos and the occasional Bible at a thrift store if I feel there are enough clues to track the family down and return the items, and
add them to Findagrave as well.
It tickles me to see someone else rescuing these photos and for once my family is the beneficiary.

The picture is of gravestone
|Caring Graver||Elizabeth Miller|
I have a picture for an Elizabeth Rodgers
Your Elizabeth Rodgers Miller has 1840-1904
Is this the same person or 2 different people?
Just asking because you've got a request in Mercer citizens
I've been working in this cemetery and another group of three people have a book which I was told they are working on. Any suggestions welcomed

Hi. Thanks for contacting me. The Harris line is a collateral line to my family. I am not actively researching it, but I'd still be interested in a digital image of Anna Florence Harris' brother. Thanks again.

I uploaded your photo request for Julia Brown. There were 6 other family members buried in the same plot. I added photos to all them and created memorials if there wasn't already one.
Others on the plot
John H. Brown 1826-1893
Sarah J. Brown 1831-1929
Alta Brown 1867-1868
Sarah Brown 1870-1945
Daniel Brown 1797-1870
Julia A. Brown 1803-1882

I am split my year between Kentucky and Florida, although I travel to upstate New York, Oregon and Southern California at least once a year.
Most of my photographs have been acquired in those locations.

Yes, rescuing photos IS an addiction.
I finally had to start keeping a spreadsheet on my collection, just to keep it organized.
I have added a few digital images to Find-a-Grave, but nowhere near the 6000 you have! Great to "meet" you.
|Kathleen Irwin||Thanks for what you do|
I am so happy to find another person who, like me, rescues old photographs at antique shops.
I have been doing that for about a dozen years and have over 300 photographs in my possession.I have researched and blogged 183 of them, and have been fortunate to send home 77 photos to their respective families.
Just wanted to drop you a note and a big "thumbs up". I feel like I have found a kindred spirit.

Thanks for uploading the picture of Emeline Pearson Taylor of Richmond, Virginia. She is my great great great great grandmother.
