Bio and Links
Bio Photo This has been my hobby for over seven years, started long before I discovered any websites for posting them.
I find myself concentrating on the older, broken, unreadable tombstones, the ones that, because of layers of mold, lichen and grime, are so obscure that people tend to walk right past them. I get more satisfaction uncovering a lost individual's stone than I do photographing huge monuments that will be around for a thousand years and those more modern ones of the men whose bones have partially disintegrated while still clothed in the everlasting polyester suits that they were buried in!

John Byrne
HI,
I was wondering if you have the father correct for this gentleman. Simon Byrne who married Bridgte Ryan Byrne, had a son John born in 1859 who married a McClain. Is it possible that this is Simon's son instead? Regards

Find a Grave policy reminder
Please make sure that when you upload your grave marker photos that they are not of chalked or shaving creamed headstones. Find a Grave policy strictly forbids the depiction headstones altered in this way. Such photos will be removed when reported.

What we are looking for is headstones photographed in a way that shows what they currently look like in-situ (as they look in real life). In fact, headstones should never actually be touched or altered in any way. Let the camera do the documenting.

Thank you for your cooperation in this matter,

Find a Grave Administration

Fillmore Crim
Cheryl,

Could you please remove the photo you attached to Fillmore Crim's memorial in Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Dubuque. I already posted a photo, and don't think there needs to be two.

Thank You...

Thank you so very much for posting the photo of my great grandma's grave. You have helped ignite the passion to trace her past leading back to Ireland. I was able to go there this year. I have also added my great grandfather's grave ( James Flury) & I have linked them. Thank you again!

Thank you for the photo.

As you know, there are two cemeteries named St. Johns, with an address of Bellevue. One is north of Bellevue near St. Donatus, and one is south of Bellevue adjacent to the Presbyterian Cemetery. I was down in Iowa and visited both cemeteries this summer.

A while back, the two cemeteries were merged on findagrave.com. What a mess! I don't know if anyone has requested that the merge be undone.

William Rebman Photo
Thank you so much for the very clear photo of the tombstone for William Rebman. It is much better than the one I was able to take quite a few years ago when I visited this cemetery.
