This has been my hobby for over seven years, started long before I discovered any websites for posting them.|
I find myself concentrating on the older, broken, unreadable tombstones, the ones that, because of layers of mold, lichen and grime, are so obscure that people tend to walk right past them. I get more satisfaction uncovering a lost individual's stone than I do photographing huge monuments that will be around for a thousand years and those more modern ones of the men whose bones have partially disintegrated while still clothed in the everlasting polyester suits that they were buried in!

|Dolores Wigal||Irene M. Hildebrand|
Hello. I have been looking for an Irene Timp Hildebrand, not sure if this is her or not. Do you know what Irene's maiden name was? I noticed that the name on the Findagrave page and the stone are spelled differently. Hildebrand vs. Hillebrand, do you know why? Findagrave # is 111243639, spouse is Clarence N. Hildebrand. St. Paul Cemetery in Worthington, IA Dubuque County. Thank you for your help. Dolores Findagrave # 46991047

Ohhh, I am very sorry to hear that. I have done a lot of work with American Cancer Society ---- Relay for Life. We really NEED to get this disease under control and STOP it. Glad for you....you are one of the lucky ones! I actually do not know of Kim; may I assume she was a daughter of Leonard and Doris? Thank you, Sandy
Thank you very much for the photo of Leonard V and Doris Accola. Much appreciated. Sandy Morrey
Thank you for posting the photo of Albert Billingsley. It was one that was used in the newspaper when he went to serve in Youngstown, Ohio. It's wonderful!!

Looking for John Goddard Stanger, the husband of Mary Ann Stanger. Mary Ann is buried at the Johnson cemetery , Dubuque county Iowa. Their son, John is buried in an adjacent plot to his mother, Mary Ann. I wonder if John sr. might be buried in an unmarked grave in the same cemetery but haven"t been able to obtain any proof of where his remains are located. As a fellow Find a Grave volunteer I would appreciate any ideas you might have.

Great work with photos, would you happen to have a photo of Franklin Valentine Goodrich's tomb, husband of Minerva M. Perigo Goodrich.

Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU! It's wonderful to get headstone photos of a direct ancestor and my son will be thrilled to see these of his great-great-grandparents. My request languished for the longest time and it's heartening to know that you fulfilled it. It gives me hope on my others, and saves me a 400 mile roadtrip that I was tempted to make. All good wishes for a beautiful summer, thanks again.
