I will have limited computer access during November. I will make all updates as time allows.

Recently had my DNA tested and it verified that I am almost 50/50 Finnish and Irish heritage.

When I walk a cemetery, I make a note of other nearby relatives, the section/area I am in and include it in my transcriptions. When you are researching a 'John Smith', it helps to know if there are other 'Smith' names next to him.
Some cemeteries restrict photo taking by non-family members. Having any plot information helps all of the photo volunteers.
When I first started, I just wrote down names without photos. Now I take photos of all of the headstones.
Quite often I find myself researching the folks that I create memorials for, adding additional information and linking as many as I can locate.

I will make corrections/additions to any memorial that I have created.
All requests are verified before I change the memorial.

|Carrie and Allen 💕||81110283 double photo|
Hi, one of your photos posted twice to this memorial, would you mind deleting one? This is a glitch in Findagrave. Thanks!

Would you mind removing the photo of the funeral home marker? This memorial has a lovely marker now. Thanks.

Olaf (Olof) #36611584 was my grandfather's maternal uncle.
Do you allow me to use your photo of the grave in a possible forthcoming booklet or website for my relatives?
If you want to add the Swedish parents to your memorial 36611584 Olaf Mortenson they are Mårten Bengtsson 131688639 and Hanna Larsdotter 131689223.

Yes, there are two: Block 33 and Block 35.
|Carrie and Allen 💕||RE: Military rank on memorials|
With all due respect, if you look at Willamette National Cemetery, for example, you will find that the only memorials with rank listed follow military guidelines. That's how it works. Obviously, wartime cemeteries full of field casualties list almost everyone with rank, because they died while in service, as per the guidelines. Check the Findagrave forums for discussions of this topic and you will find that this is correct. I would appreciate it if you would look into it a bit more and reconsider. Thanks!

I think you have got two families intermixed that should be separate. The memorials involved are Afton Schafer #159955179, Thora Boyd #169793394, and Jack Ross Barnes # 145548825. I can give you the correct information. Would you please email me?
|Ann D||Emma Dodge Good/Harold C Hines|
I notice that you have submitted a grave for Harold C Hines and have indicated that he is the child of Emma Dodge Good. Emma Good was my great grandmother, and had 3 girls much earlier than his birth is listed. I believe this is an error. If not, please clarify!

|Carrie and Allen 💕||Military rank on memorials|
I have noticed that you usually add the military rank as a prefix on your memorials when there is a govt. marker with the rank give.
However, normally the rank should not be included on the Findagrave memorial. Here are the guidelines:
It is military protocol to only use the rank as a prefix when the service member has retired (not resigned or ended their enlistment) or died on active duty.
You can add the rank and service info to the Inscription field on the memorial. FWIW - I add to this field anything that's not already entered in the memorials fields - i.e., I don't re-add the name & dates to this field but will add Rank, service/war info and any personal inscription or sentiment.
I will be sending some corrections to rank, I hope that you will make the changes.
