December, 2014
I will have limited computer access during December. I will make all updates as time allows.

When I walk a cemetery, I make a note of other nearby relatives, the section/area I am in and include it in my transcriptions. When you are researching a 'John Smith', it helps to know if there are other 'Smith' names next to him. It is very helpful having any plot information.
Some cemeteries restrict photo taking by non-family members. Having any plot information helps all of the photo volunteers.
When I first started, I just wrote down names without photos. Now I take photos of all of the headstones.

Quite often I find myself researching the folks that I create memorials for, adding additional information and linking as many as I can locate.

As time allows, I am willing to do some Oregon obituary research for others. This is my form of 'Pay It Forward'.

I will make corrections/additions to any memorial that I have created.

All requests are verified before I change the memorial.

Hettie Riggs Starr #133246480
I made a request for change to Hettie's mother. For clarification: Hettie's mother is the 1st wife of Silas Riggs, Sarah Jane Bone, and not the 2nd wife, Sarah Elizabeth Meyer. Sarah Bone and Silas Riggs married in 1864, and Sarah died in 1873, about a year after Hettie's birth. Silas then married Sarah Meyer in 1875 and with her had a daughter Clara. Thank you for all of your work on findagrave!

Transfer management?
You were kind enough to transfer management of the memorial for my grandmother, Clara Ahrens Sothmann, to me. I was wondering if you would be willing to transfer management of other relatives of hers in Belcrest Cemetery, Marion Co, Oregon, of which you kindly took photos? This includes John Ahrens, Esther Ahrens, and Henry Ahrens. Thank you very much, and thank you so much for your effort and time to take these photos and record this information!

RE: Roxie Anna HERRING
Ann, FYI checked the info and Augustus Herring's first wife (a teenager) died in 1874 and he left the state of PA. He ended up in Oregon and remarried and had children there. He died march 30, 1921 in Oregon State Asylum, Salem, Marion, Oregon as did his wife. That's why there's so many Herrings in the Oregon and Washington State areas ncluding those with the same family names of Augustus and Benjamin, etc. Just wanted to clear up the mystery and pass it on to anyone related there to my Augustus Herring originally from PA.
