October, 2016
I will have limited computer access during October. I will make all updates as time allows.
* * * * *

Recently had my DNA tested and it verified that I am almost 50/50 Finnish and Irish heritage.
* * *
When I walk a cemetery, I make a note of other nearby relatives, the section/area I am in and include it in my transcriptions. When you are researching a 'John Smith', it helps to know if there are other 'Smith' names next to him.
Some cemeteries restrict photo taking by non-family members. Having any plot information helps all of the photo volunteers.
When I first started, I just wrote down names without photos. Now I take photos of all of the headstones.

Quite often I find myself researching the folks that I create memorials for, adding additional information and linking as many as I can locate.

I will make corrections/additions to any memorial that I have created.

All requests are verified before I change the memorial.

Thanks for adding the marker to Cameron Johnson's grave. I will change cemetery to Belcrest. I had been told he was going to be buried at Restlawn.

RE: Edits
Hi Ann:
Yes, thanks for making the changes, I always try to do my homework. :-) Salem is new for me, I've only been here a year, and I still have one genealogical foot in Central Oregon (finishing projects there) and one here. No one's done much with GPS here, and I am surprised at how many burials in Belmont aren't on Findagrave yet. Lately I've spent more time at the State Archives looking up Death Certificates than walking in cemeteries, but it's hard to stay indoors in this gorgeous weather. We've been hopscotching around the area, getting to know what's here cemetery-wise. I'd love to come to some meetings, my husband brought home your flyer, but I work full time and it's hard to get to everything.
Thanks for the contact!

Alvah D.Campbell
Hello again Ann ~

I guess it would help if I had all of my notes handy when replying!

I've okayed the link up.

Jessie was Alvah's 2nd wife , as shown in the 1910 Census.

Although not my Great Grandmother , Vera Jane Campbell's mother.
( THAT was Bertha Putnam. ).

Mystery solved.

Alvah D.Campbell
Hello Ann ~

Have only just seen your request today. Must admit , I'm slightly confused. According to my findings Alvah D.Campbell was married to Bertha E.Putnam. ( Now , of course , it's always possible there was a divorce , a re-marriage , etc. , I don't know about. )

Would love to know a little more info.

Alvah is my Great Great Grandfather. Are you , possibly , a relative?
