"We actually don't fear death. We fear that no one will notice our absence, that we will disappear without a trace". (unknown)|
People come to Find a Grave for many reasons; genealogy, curiosity, closure. People volunteer on Find a Grave for many reasons; genealogy, curiosity, closure. Sadly, some are in a contest to see how many memorial pages they can put in, mistakes and all, and they hold tight to those pages they've created even if they aren't related to them at all…for them it's all about the numbers.
My friend, Melinda Fowler, and I started doing this for our own families and then it quickly became something bigger…it was about other people's families. We have gotten such satisfaction out of fulfilling requests and everyone is so grateful. But it is "we" who are grateful for the opportunity to honor your relatives. We're not in this for the count, but for the gratification in connecting relatives and for recognizing the need to say "I WAS HERE".
p.s. I take a lot of random pictures in the Danbury, CT and Westchester County, New York area. If I should happen to run into your family and you would like to take ownership, by all means let me know and it's done. Families should stay together!

|Barnard/OConnor/Wolford||RE: Tiedtke @ Woodlawn|
Well, I believe I have wrapped up the Tiedtke search at Woodlawn, after stomping around there today enjoying the near 60 degree weather for one day. I visited August's & Justine's joint marker because the photographer didn't recall looking around for more Tiedke folks. She was actually searching for someone else when she snapped it because of the unusual last name. BEHIND the large Tiedtke stone were 5 more graves! Henrietta, Katherine, granddaughter Justine, Harry, & his wife Corabell. So, now the Tiedtke search is at an end. Happy Hunting, Pamela

I braved the cold today and went to the cemetery. I talked with a different person who just so happened to be on her way to put flowers at the Tiedtke Mausoleum! She gave me the plot diagram. There are 10 spaces inside the crypt. They contain Alice Fowler, Charles, Ida, Anna Marie "Mamie", Ernest, Sylvia, & John. There are 3 spaces still open, as the latest burial was John in 2005. Hope this helps, Happy Hunting!

Greetings. You have a photo request for Ida and asked who else is in the Mausoleum. It is kept locked so I called the office and did some tracing. The family mausoleum has 4 burials inside: Charles, his brother Ernest, Ernest's wife Anna Marie "Mamie", and Sylvia (still checking on who she is). There are two confirmed burials of Tiedtke people in Section 13, Plot 65 and those are the parents of Charles & Ernest: August & Justine. I asked where Ida is buried and was told there are more Tiedtke folks in Section 42, lot 80. I assume this is outside of the mausoleum. On F-A-G there are a few others without grave locations at Woodlawn: Charles daughter Alice Fowler, his sisters Bertha Spross & Katherine, & his brother Harry and wife Corabell. I will have to make a trip over there and check this lot 80 to see who is there since there are no photos of the graves. Then I will also get an updated photo of the Mausoleum. Hope this helps with your research, Pamela

You caught me. Not a spell check, just a search.

I got started with Wooster because I found an ancestor there. While doing research on him, I found the Hale Collection entries and just got carried away. If you could just post your photos that would be great. I'm not connected in any way to the ones I have posted. My own ancestor was already posted and photographed. I also post and photograph cemeteries where I live. Find A Grave keeps me busy along with genealogy research on my family.

That's quite a coincidence! I've been posting a lot of memorials at Wooster with information taken from the Hale Collection. Since I live in California, I was hoping that someone local would add photos. Thank you for taking the time to add photos to the Davy memorials.

No worries! These are my grandparents and I just happened to see the record on Ancestry.com (the picture of my grandfather that you have posted here is mine from my tree there!). Never noticed it posted here in the past
