|I have been an avid genealogist for 25+ years. Names I am researching are McDanel, McDaniel, McDonald, Jackson, Hayden, Poe, Farris, Jones, Crane, Harp, Polsgrove, Crawford, Ables, French, Webb, Mitchell, Seay, West, and Dodge.|
I have been in awe of the dedication of the folks and the numbers of memorials entered by the people with whom I have been in contact. I hope to live up to the high standards set by those who came before me. I really love what this site is all about! Special thanks to ALL of the contributors!
Also thanks to all that send updates for my entries. They are always appreciated and also any duplicate notifications that I might have inadvertently entered. I always research the name before I enter anything but sometimes I slip up or the real name is different (maybe I am missing the first name or a different married name). So don't hesitate to point it out to me - I want to get the right information in the system.
I am especially interested in receiving maiden names for additions. These are so important for finding female family members. Even though their maiden name may be mentioned within their memorial, the user cannot retrieve that record on a Name Search unless it is actually displayed in the "maiden name" area.

|MSmith42||RE: Re Carrie Woodard|
Hi - thanks for replying. I guess it should stay Woodard her legal last name at time of death. Her children are all Thorntons and most of her adult life she was a Thornton, but it should be her legal name. Thanks for letting me know.

|Kitty Inman||RE: Alabama Frances Yarbrough Shanklin|
Thank you for making the changes to my great grandmother Alabama Frances (Yarbrough)Shanklin. It all looks correct now and yes Asa was her father and his is correct. If I was in good health I would ask for a transfer but I am not at all.
Hope you have a great Turkey day!

Find a Grave Memorial # 149939423 for Alabama Frances (Yarbrough) Shanklin has her being buried at Maplewood Cemetery in Mayfield, Ky. She was my great-grandmother and she was buried in an unmarked grave at Oak Grove Baptist Cemetery in Graves County, Ky. The dates my grandmother Merrie Aline (Shanklin) Long gave me for her mother are 17 Dec 1855 at Golden Pond, Trigg Co., Ky.-3 Apr 1890 Mayfield, Graves Co., Ky.
If you could please make the correction it would be greatly appreciated.
Kitty (Long) Inman

|Kathleen Hill||Asher Branch Atherton|
Regarding the lovely tribute "Flower" you left on Find A Grave Memorial# 85135971
I know that Asher's Death Record states:
Mother Nellie Burr
But his mother was my gg Aunt ELLEN BURROW who married Canada Atherton March 18, 1830 in Hickman Co., KY.
Could you please correct her name in your tribute "Flower" on Asher's Memorial.
FYI - I have tried to get Asher's Memorial manager to correct the spelling of his 1st name, and to Link him to his father, to no avail.
Redondo Beach, CA

Subject: Ruben T. Brown obituary
There seems to be some confusion about the death date year of Ruben T. Brown.On Find a Grave web site in the picture of the Navy headstone you cannot see the death date year.It might be 2002 but it looks more like 2007.I thought Hornbeak might be able to clear up the confusion of the death date year.If you go on Find a Grave web site and put in Ruben Brown you can see what I am talking about.One headstone does show 2002 clearly but the other headstone is covered by some grass.The obituary shows Mr. Brown to be buried at Greenlea Cemetery in Fulton,Ky. and Hornbeak had the services for the funeral.This could be an error by the company that made the Navy headstone.I was a friend of Mr. Brown from the railroad.Please e-mail me back.Thanks.
