Bio and Links
Bio Photo When I was very young I always wanted to know just "who I was" My parents divorced when I was under 4 years of age, so I had no knowledge of my father's side.

I started doing family research in the mid 1980's. So many family members had passed away so getting information has been a struggle.

Find A Grave has really aided in my research.

I post obituaries of my family and any connected to them, or some just to help others looking for their roots. I am always happy to help.

In 1989 I bought an old 1970's scrapbook at a flea market that contained many obituaries of San Saba County Texas. When the cemetery is named I am posting them to Find-A-Grave.

I started collecting obituaries of my school friends back in the 1950's and have been posting them also.

I was born and raised in Conroe, Texas, went to school there until 1952 when my family moved to Houston. I attended and graduated from S.F. Austin in 1954. I was a proud member of the Scottish Brigade Drill Team.

My first job was at the Crighton Theater in Conroe when I was only 15 years of age. I worked the door, concession and cashier. When we moved to Houston (Denver Harbor area) I worked at the Globe and Venus Theaters. In 1953 I went to work for Spiegel's Department Store in downtown Houston in the children's department. I worked on Monday nights and Saturdays. After graduation I was aoffered a position in the credit department. In December 1954 I accepted the job of traveling credit manager trainor to 5 states for Spiegel's. My territories were Texas, Louisiana, Oklahoma, Arkansas and Missouri. I met many interesting people and saw many wonderful places along the way and had the time of my life seeing so many places and taking photos. I remained with Spiegel's until the chain was sold to the Darling Company. Darling Company did not have a credit department so that department was phased out and all employees were let go.

My family names I am researching are: ASHMORE,BEAN,BROWN,CARLISLE,CRAWFORD,GREGG,HEMPHILL,LANG, MIDKIFF,PERRY,SMITH,TURNER,WEST,WIGGINS AND YOUNG ~~ my Bean's and Midkiff's came to Texas in 1825

My husbands family names are: ADAMS,BALDWIN, BAXTER, CEARLEY, CHESHIRE, DONAHO, HOWELL, MCCORMICK, WALKER, AND WHITE ~~ my Cearley's and Walker's came to Texas in the 1850's and the Donaho's in the 1820's

Our children's family names are ANDERSON and SANSOM

Information
Betty: I saw where you submitted the obit & personal photo for Mode B. Etheredge,Find A Grave Memorial# 58753967 and remembered that you work Trinity County. I found the father of Mode B. Etheredge and submitted the link to Ron & Myrna Cooper. The obit says that his mother was Ora Lee Reed. I find where an Ora Etheredge died in Trinity County on 18 JLY 1986 (TX Death Index) and since she had a son living in Trinity County at that time, Paul Conner Etheredge (memorial #19796372) was wondering if you can find out if maybe she was buried in the same cemetery as he was.
It just seems a shame that a man of such stature As LTC Mode B. Etheredge is not linked to his family. My interest was with his wife, Emma Fatheree. She belongs to my McCarley/Barnett family on my mother's side.
I appreciate your help.

James was my father and I am interested in knowing more about him. Judging from your posts, you knew him well.
Would you be interested in speaking with me?

Betty, your name is vaguely familiar. Do we have an Adams connection?

Reminder: It's been over two weeks and the Herms family links remain duplicated because of your second memorial for Betty. Please delete your memorial. Thank You

RE: Betty Killbuck
I understand completely. But as soon as her obit was posted I retrieved it. I am from Waller County and I attended high school with Betty and her brother Peden. FINE people. I've been working on family links for three years to get Waller County family memorials properly connected. Together we will all keep Find A Grave accurate and complete. THANKS

I had already completed Betty's memorial on 3/26 and properly linked her to her parents and her younger brother. Your duplicate memorial is causing duplicate links to be displayed. Sorry, but will you please kindly remove your memorial?
Thanks

We are currently working to identify anyone buried in Westlawn-Hillcrest Cemetery Omaha NE that has served in the military. If you have a loved one buried there or know of someone, please send us a message. We place flags on the graves for Memorial Day. This project is sponsored by Centennial Masonic Lodge #326.

If you can send us the names, we will be sure to include them on our list to get a flag.
